Job Description

- Independent task planning, coordination and support of the mechanics team in a project development for the field of Autnomous Mobile Robots (AMR)
- Scheduling of tasks, estimation of efforts in the project for the mechanics discipline
- Creation of necessary technical and project-related documents in the field mechanics
- Implementation of quality milestones in the project for the mechanics discipline
- Development and guarantee of necessary quality and process steps in mechanical development
- Provision of necessary information and data to the developing, manufacturing and procuring interfaces in project and product development
- Design of components according to specification
- Creation of component specifications
- Carrying out tolerance studies in compliance with the applicable design guidelines
- Preparation of technical approvals (MLC) and release of documents in the valid document management system
- Responsible for design, assembly of AMR systems
- 3D design of functional carriers and mechanical systems
- Define a requirement for simulation calculation and evaluate results
- Supplementation of design guidelines and know-how transfer to other design areas worldwide
- Evaluation of manufacturing deviations
- Coordination of manufacturability with suppliers
- Evaluate customer requirements and translate them into internal specification requirements
- Support the creation of DFMEA
- Define test requirements, track execution and co-evaluate results
- Technical contact person for other functional areas and, if applicable, customers
- Definition of functionalities/prototypes for internal tests and customer samples
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- 3D design experience (e.g. CATIA)
- Materials Know-how for construction (e.g. plastics, steel, rubber, aluminum, etc.)
- Electromechanical know-how (e.g. DC motor, gearbox, linear gearbox, etc.)
- Manufacturing know-how (e.g. assembly process, machine manufacturing processes, etc.)
- Development methods in design (e.g. specifications and functional specifications, design guidelines, risk assessments, tools for problem solving, etc.)
- Drawing creation
- Tolerance calculation
- Shape and position tolerance
- Supplier manufacturing process (e.g. plastic injection molding, aluminum and steel casting, etc.)
- Legal requirements: Keyword End-of-Life Vehicle Ordinance
- Noise behaviour (keyword NVH)
- Joining technologies
