    Overview:

    Energy and climate issues are key factors in our innovative risk assessment methodologies. Our clients are financial institutions: institutional investors, asset managers, corporate and investment banks, insurance companies, development banks, infrastructure funds.


    Reporting to the Head of NLP & Data Science, within the Sustainable Investment Research Team in the Data & Analytics of LSEG, the individual will be in charge of maintaining and enhancing existing sovereign ESG products and create new IP on this field. The role requires managing projects to demanding deadlines and involves regular interaction with internal partners and external parties.


    Key responsibilities of the role:


    IP & Methodology Development
    o Conceive, develop, and test algorithms with tools like Python, Snowflake, AWS, etc to enhance existing tools and create new products
    o Use statistical and AI oriented algorithms to generate IP for different internal and external clients
    o Scope and build proof-of-concepts / prototypes using data science techniques


    Data analysis
    o Locate, clean and wrangle data. Integrate internal and external data sources using API's and connect to the core internal DB and sandbox.
    o Acting as an SME with internal stakeholders to inform the development and refinement of ESG tools.
    o Developing new datasets.


    Market & stakeholder engagement
    o Collaborating in multi-stakeholder research and product development projects and providing analytical support for clients and internal stakeholders.
    o Proactively identify potential risks and issues and actively engage all the stakeholders in their mitigation and management
    o Bring technical knowledge to engage in planning and agreeing sprint goals with other team members in data science, research and production functions.
    o Work with external and internal partners to identify and deliver LSEG data and tools needed to build prototypes and proof-of-concepts.

    Role requirements:


    o Proficient in development (Python) in a cloud environment
    o Degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or other related fields
    o Good understanding of data structure and data quality of ESG ratings, scores and other datasets

    o Experience conducting quantitative research in an organization or consulting environment and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences; at least 3 years of previous experience would be fine
    o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-cultural team
    o Experience with fast prototyping and delivering minimum viable products
    o Affinity with Sustainable Investment
