Service Owner GitHub - IT (TM)

Job Description

• Provides input in service attributes such as performance and availability etc;
• Represents GitHub services across the organization;
• Point of escalation(notification) for major incidents on GitHub Services;
• Represents the services in Change Advisory board meetings;
• coordinates support team to solve incidents and problems, and implement changes;
• Host/moderate regular discussions with internal customers;
• Define and keep track of service budgets (HW acquisition, external support providers etc);
• Participation on development and implementation of service improvement solutions relevant to GitHub Services in Agile/CI project and daily operations;
• Maintain on-premises and AWS cloud infrastructure by applying security patches or hotfixes;
• Monitor the service performance and take proactive measures whenever is necessary.

• Experience in application support, tool administration and service tasks;
• Experience in managing Linux servers: Redhat/ Oracle Linux/ ubuntu etc;
• Experience with AWS Management Service (Cloud Watch, EC2, RDS etc);
• Experience with Github Enterprise administration is considered an advantage;
• Knowledge about scripting languages including Shell;
• Knowledge about Agile Methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban);
• Good understanding of the IT Service Management Processes;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus;
• English (fluently), German is a plus;
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills required.
