ROLE PROFILE:
This is a golden opportunity for a talented software engineer who has Analytics experience or the strong desire to learn about this stimulating field. We are building upon a new and rapidly evolving Public Cloud based analytics platform and are prepared to train the successful candidate to augment their skills.

Working closely with research teams, product managers and architects you will develop, build, improve and test financial data analysis models and associated practices and procedures. With other partners we innovate constantly improve our models and to provide truly differentiating insight for our customers.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
o Engaging with product owners, architects and other specialists you'll design and build world-class cloud native solutions.
o You will assist your workstream by writing user stories, refining and estimating them as part of an agile process.
o You'll build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure enterprise software, adhering to company standards.
o Demonstrating a consistent focus on quality, you'll ensure that you deliver reliable software through static analysis, unit testing and other industry standard ways of working.
o You'll provide technical support to operations or other development teams.
o To help the team develop and learn, you'll review work of peers, providing advice and guidance for the benefit of the team as a whole.
o Through agile retrospectives and reviews, you'll adapt and find innovative ways to make your team work more effectively.
o Through participation in refinement and planning sessions, you'll work with other team members to analyse development requirements, provide design options and complexity estimates, and agree how to deliver the requirements.
Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies:
o You will have solid engineering skills, be able to quickly grasp and contribute to existing codebases and design concepts.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
o Minimum 5 years' work experience
o Positive attitude to learning new skills and technologies
o Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with high academic standing
o Self-driven, goal-oriented team player with good communication skills
o Strong problem solving, algorithmic thinking and coding skills
o Strong practical knowledge and experience of Python (Flask or similar)
o Strong foundation of data structures and algorithms
o Understanding of how to appropriately use frameworks and libraries to typical software patterns like APIs, queues and distributed processing
o Knowledge of databases and SQL
o Ability to work in an agile team environment
o Experience or knowledge of Dash Plotly is a plus
Nice to have:
o Building and deploying AWS and/or MS Azure based applications
o Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
o Proficient with Git
o Proficient with CI/CD automation
o Past internship/experience in financial services industry is a plus
o Good knowledge of Linux/Windows environments
o Understanding of networking (TCP, RPC) and Linux system calls
o Strong analytical background and quantitative skills
o Knowledge about machine learning
