    As an experienced Defect Manager you will join the Workspace Desktop Release Management team. You will be responsible for all aspects of defect management during the release cycle. In short you will support and manage projects across the project lifecycle to ensure delivery that is on time, in budget and within scope.The Role involves working closely with multiple stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, QA and Release Management to ensure that all raised defects are prioritised, tracked and resolved in a timely manner thus ensuring the quality and timeliness of the releases. The Defect Manager will assist the Release Manager with other aspects of the Release Management Process such as gathering release metrics and providing feedback for release retrospectives. Responsibilities

    • Ensure that all defects are properly tracked and managed throughout the release cycle.
    • Track the defects according to the defect tracking process and tools while making suggestions for improvement as appropriate.
    • Monitor the status of defects and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Host weekly defect tracking calls as required.
    • Ensure all Critical and Blocker defects are resolved within agreed timelines and escalate where necessary.
    • Assist the Release manager with defining and tracking the scope for upcoming releases.
    • Build and maintain defect management dashboards / queries in JIRA to provide visibility into defect and story status.
    • Provide regular reports on defect management metrics to management.
    • Create slides for the presentation deck to support the Release Management Go/No Go calls.
    • Contribute to release retrospectives and continuous improvement of the release and defect management process.
    Requirements
    • 2+ Years' experience working in the financial services sector or similarly regulated environment in Defect Management or Test Management Roles.
    • High level of proficiency in JIRA to manage defects including creating complex search filters and dashboards.
    • Solid working knowledge of Products such as Microsoft Office and Confluence.
    • Ability to analyse defect data, to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement.
    • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts and related software (Git, SVN, Jenkins).
    • Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall along with CI/CD processes and how they impact defect management.
    • ITIL Conversant.
    • Familiarity with software development and QA assurance concepts such as code management, testing and release management.
    • Creative, co-operative and collaborative.
    • Good analytical, synthesis and reporting skills.
    • Methodical with attention to detail.
    • Strong communicator - working with many people across different roles and locations.
    • Has "full ownership" mindset of the defect management process.
    • Be able to operate in a very dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
    • Have a 'can do' attitude that allows for taking on things which may seem outside of the remit of the role as required to meet objectives.
    • Be open and honest in dialogue, processes and seek consensus in decision making.
