Senior Model Risk Lead

Role Purpose

Senior Model Risk Manager will lead Bucharest team:

• Manage Bucharest Model Risk team;
• Lead model validation and governance work of Bucharest Model Risk team.

Key areas of coverage are:

• Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing models,
• Wealth Mgmt. models,
• Sustainable Investments models,
• Indices methodologies,
• Pricing and Risk models.

Team Lead

• Manage Bucharest team in terms of validation assignments and distribution,
• Train and upskill junior quant in line with career development framework at LSEG,
• Have a high-level understanding of the specific model groups and coordinate the validation and governance work with junior analysts and SMEs,
• Liaise with Bucharest Quant community in academia,
• Help support overall LSEG reach out and recruiting across key academic institutions,
• Support LSEG research publications.

Validation

• Lead/Co-Lead the validation work for at least one Model Group,
• Manage validation delivery of the quant team in Bucharest through
  • Assessing mathematical and technical considerations for assumptions, limitations, and performance used in models and quantitative methods,
  • Providing feedback on the validation overall approach, content, form, and validation document,
  • Monitoring issues consistency and formulation across the validations
• Vet and verify implementation of models and quantitative methods to ensure intended use,
• Follow model risk management policies, programs and procedures and assess emerging risks associated with models,
• Support exit meetings and closely engage with validation colleagues and development teams to ensure issues closure.
