Interchange Technician

High school degree – mechanics or informatics; Knowledge of technical drawings, familiar with technical manuals, catalogs and product coding; Good understanding of systems and good PC skills. MS Excel operations: processing, manipulation, administration of data (knowledge of SAP is an advantage); Good English skills (intermediate level); Planning and organising skills, detail-oriented, good analytical skills; High communication skills and team player attitude; Display of customer service ability: able to maintain commitments and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Reviews interchange requests (bearings and housings) and identifies suitable Timken solutions using available tools;
• Supports on related products from Timken portfolio and acquired brands;
• Identifies internal substitutions (ex. Torrington) and checks for active solutions;
• Searches for products and technical information based on the provided information and using available tools and technical documentation;
• Investigate the assigned jobs in order to increase the technical knowledge, supervised by more experienced colleagues;
• Provides CircleBack (newly discovered cross-references) to increase functionality of the Interchange DataBase;
• Supports on corporate projects involving part inter-changeability;
• Uses properly available tools;
• Follows implemented process flows and procedural guidelines;
• Follows new product implementation at Timken and competition, investigates P/N modifications.
