About you:
Shares information across teams;
Demonstrates the knowledge and expertise in their field to have credibility with their peers;
Always follows up and delivers on action points agreed with clients/colleagues;
Prioritizes activities according to business need – completes essential tasks first
Foresees forthcoming risks, escalates early and has plans for risk mitigation;
Takes responsibility and accountability for their own tasks and mistakes;
Takes on routine tasks as necessary. Carries out work proactively and without close supervision;
Proven extensive work experience in Networks design and project deliver;
Exposure to financial markets and associated technologies (good to have);
Excellent planning and communication skills, with experience of working in both Agile and waterfall methodologies;
Excellent client management skills; Good knowledge of Service Management process’s;
In depth knowledge of routing and switching, including LAN, WAN, MAN and WLAN technologies;
Experience with F5 LTM and GTM; In depth experience with Cisco networking technologies;
Experience with Automation, specifically Ansible is preferable;
Extensive experience deploying BGP, OSPF, PIM, MPLS, VPLS, IPVPN, with Cisco and Forti technologies;
Knowledge of Cisco and Forti firewall technologies;

About the role:
Manages the delivery of technical solutions for recurring technical issues, ensuring that long term fixes are implemented to prevent any repeat failures;
Attending technical workshops and being the authority on design decisions;
Ensure estimates provided for projects are fully scoped, underpinned by assumptions and derived from thorough analysis;
Manages the planning, implementing and reporting on a sustained program of continuous improvement;
Provides high quality documentation and Network diagrams;
Works closely with business management to determine business process and productivity needs and an appropriate technology strategy to support business goals;
Analyzes technical needs, requirements, and state of the network’s infrastructure design, integration, and operations;
Works with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters;
Develops design principles, models, plans, internal standards, budgets, and processes based on industry best practices;
Establish governing principles for network design and deployment;
Participate in selection of networking technologies and products for implementation;
Lead teams of other network designers and engineers in developing detailed designs and qualitycontrol mechanisms during implementation;
Communicate the role and value of the network to the organization and present the business case for technology investments;
Continually update understanding of business and technology status and objectives and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves.
Analyses issues to identify the most commercial, realistic and pragmatic solutions. Considers all options and if one solution does not work will find a successful alternative quickly;
Ensure that staff are updated on updated on progress both at a corporate and business unit level against goals and objectives
Oral and written communications are tailored to their audience’s needs, well structured, persuasive, concise and based upon fact. Messages and arguments are compelling;
