    The project:

    Refinitiv FX Aggregator enables seamless access to liquidity. It allows a flexible choice of venue and execution management options to trade forex straight from the Refinitiv desktop.

    Clients can connect LSEG regulated markets, as well as third-party venues and exchanges (such as CBOE FX, EuronextFX, B3 and others on demand), offering the widest choice of access to liquidity on the market.

    Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

    • Working as a technical lead in the Global Development team to implement new functionality in FX trading platform.

    • Participating in project/work planning sessions with team members and product managers to analyze requirements, estimate effort, and break down tasks.

    • Designing, developing, and documenting applications solutions.

    • Modifying existing applications, components, libraries, and modules.

    • Taking part in code reviews and reviewing the work of colleagues.

    • Support dev/ops teams with system maintenance tasks and tools that facilitate unattended upgrading, fall back, patching, etc.

    • Support QA team in design and implementation for automated testing.

    • 3rd level support, including troubleshooting on production systems, occasionally requiring the candidate to be "on-call" outside of normal business hours.

    • Builds and defines learning and development plans for teams and individuals

    • Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and is regarded as the subject matter expert in their domain. Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies.

    • Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams.

    • Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it.

    • Leads the delivery of important projects, supporting team members to be productive with little direction; delegating and reviewing work when required.

    • Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics

    • Leads design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and quality leads.

    • Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions.


    Required Skills

    • Minimum 8 years experience as Java Developer

    • Expert design and programming experience with recent Java versions, including development of multi-tier and event driven microservice based systems

    • Deep knowledge of high-performance programming in Java and performance optimization techniques (i.e., GC tuning) (required)

    • Experience of message-driven architectures such as Kafka, Tibco, Solace

    • Knowledge of approaches to ensure resilient operation of distributed systems, including recovery, failover, redundancy, and related principles

    • Experienced developing software for real time, low latency distribution systems

    • Experience with middleware, preferred Kafka, Tibco, RabbitMQ

    • Experienced with cloud infrastructure, Containerization & Kubernetes. (Azure preferred)

    • Experienced with Agile methodologies and leading Agile teams

    • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Strong OOAD skills

    • Self-motivated, co-operative team player, ability to work with global teams

    • Good communication skills, including written and spoken English


    Additional Desirable Skills

    • Experience developing Trading Platforms.

    • Experience with NOSQL, preferred Redis, MongoDB.

    • Experience implementing automated testing solutions.

    • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.

    • Significant knowledge of at least one programming language

    • Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance

    • People management experience.
