API Developer (Barings)

• API’s development, production API’s are running on prem, we are in the process of moving them to Cloud, and develop more API’s for internal consumption.
 

Job Description

As an API Developer you will be responsible for designing and building APIs to transform Barings digital footprint. Joining the API team puts products built by yourself and the team in hands of users across the organization. As such, you must be a self-starter, love learning new concepts, and have the ability to innovate.

Responsibilities

•  Hands on with API design standards, patterns and best practices in REST, JSON, Microservices, etc.
•  Technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software for APIs
•  Solution architecture experience across various integration patterns – API, Real time integrations, Event broker / messaging
•  Effectively communicate project expectations, issues, risks, and decisions to project team and business stakeholder related to API implementation.
•  Ensure solutions follow best practices around architecture and technology standards

Requirements

•  Self-motivated, passionate, constantly looking to develop, embraces change with sense of urgency and enjoys positively challenging the status quo
•  Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (C#, Python, .NET)
•  3+ years of relevant development experience
•  SQL / relational databases
•  Preferred experience with Kong API Gateway or related API Gateway, Docker, Kubernetes, Databricks / Apache Spark
•  Experience working with cloud and hybrid platforms such as Azure, AWS, etc.
