    The SwapClear service is the largest Interest Rate Swap clearing house in the world, playing a crucial role in global financial infrastructure by clearing $3 trillion notional per day across hundreds of products. Tech Business Analyst role would be a new role in SwapClear Development to assist in Software Delivery from analysis, architecture, and documentation perspective.

    We are looking for a talented Technical Business Analyst in SwapClear Development, who would be overseeing the implementation of software projects to enhance products and services within SwapClear. This is a new role within the agile delivery team, sitting between business facing teams, architecture & developers. The candidates need strong collaboration skills to bring the right people together to progress designs and solutions. The applicant should have a sound technical background with a keen interest in the financial markets. The Technical Business Analyst will also be responsible for writing technical specifications with help of the development team, based on the understanding of business requirements and architecture. These specifications will need to be precise and clear as they could form the basis for delegation of work to fellow team members such as developers and consultants, and also to product support / documentation.

    Key responsibilities of the role:

    • Understanding and defining the requirements for technology driven projects, to support the design and development of Product and Services in SwapClear.
    • Work with client facing BAs to understand the scope and business benefits of the delivery to ensure the delivery maintains focus and integrity.
    • Prepare Epics and Stories for review, estimation, and delivery by the technical team. This process will be in conjunction with Product Owners and SME BAs.
    • Create supporting documents with examples, for requirement elicitation and guidance for the development team.
    • Functional specifications - the individual must also be able to explain in detail how a given technological solution would meet a given business requirement.
    • Ensure that with the help of tech teams, all the project artefacts e.g. Functional Specs / Tech Designs are produced / updated as the sprints progress.
    • Support the Architecture team in producing appropriate documentation and taking changes through the review processes.
    • Provide walkthroughs and workshops of detailed requirements/acceptance criteria with the business to achieve sign off.
    • Ensure that the status of JIRA Epics and Stories is kept accurate and up to date in terms of workflow and status.
    • Resolve escalations and queries, relating to functionality, from the technology team.
    • Help to prepare, and then conduct, end of sprint reviews with business stakeholders; ensure, with support from Product Owners and SME BAs, that any new requirements are documented and prioritised.
    • Support the test teams with TDD and BDD testing documentation and help in defining additional regression and use cases where the knowledge/existing test packs are lacking.
    • System analysis - The individual must also be able to study a business activity using technological means to find solutions to a given business function.
    • System integration specification - the individual must also be able to bring different technological entities together to fix a given problem.
    • User acceptance testing (UAT) - After developing the solution to a given business requirement or problem, the individual must be able to walk the users through software as a form of testing to showcase how the solution would work in a real-life situation.
    • System integration testing (SIT) - The technical business analyst should be able to develop SIT test cases. This skill requires a deep understanding of how systems are integrated in the enterprise level.

    Experience and Skills

    • Technical experience
      • Experience working on a software development project.
      • Experience with TDD and BDD testing patterns or open to learn.
      • Good SQL skills, experience of at least one programming language.
      • Experience working on a complex integrated platform would be beneficial but is not required.

    • Business skills
      • Ability to use logical techniques to analyse the requirements and articulate to technology teams.
      • Experience in financial services with an understanding of financial and related market data a strong preference.
      • Understanding of software development methodologies and SDLC.
      • Knowledge of Databases, Operating Systems, Software architecture & design patterns.
      • Use of UML or equivalent modelling techniques.
      • Ability to use Excel and PowerPoint to track and articulate the solutions.

    Personal skills & capabilities

    • High level of written and spoken English.
    • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong team player, problem solver, a self-sufficient individual with an ability to constructively address issues - delivery focused.
