Automation Engineer for Virtualization- Private Cloud

Our new colleague will provide project and - where required - operational support for the LSEG Foundation Services/Private Cloud virtual VMware & physical Dell/HPE infrastructure including its Infrastructure as Code automation technologies.

The role consists of but is not limited to:

• Assist in designing and implementing infrastructure as code automation pipelines
• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure & workloads: cooking up recipes with Ansible, and deploying environments including test automation
• Lead or participate in designing, developing, and testing IaC solutions/modules for on-premise platforms (IaaS or PaaS)
• Create and write playbooks in Ansible and scripts to automate deployments and day 2 actions
• Define and setup process for managing Ops developed playbooks
• Develop, configure and administer overall DevOps and IT automation solutions
• Provide project support as required

Key Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of Infrastructure automation experience with IaC technologies such as: GIT & GITlab CI/CD, Ansible, Terraform
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing coding/scripting to build required automation and tools using YAML, JSON, Python, Bash, PowerShell, GoLang etc.
• Background in engineering, virtualisation engineering preferred (vCenter, vSphere ESXi, AutoDeploy, and others)
• Experience implementing continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) pipelines
• Ability to demonstrate automation of daily tasks, testing and integration experience on projects
• Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment

Bonus skills

• Working knowledge of Dell and HPE compute hardware is advantage
• Basic network experience
