    Reporting into the Corporate Chief Data Office (CCDO) London Stock Exchange Group ("LSEG"), this Data Governance Specialist role will be skilled at leading and managing people, processes, and technology efficiently so that the corporate set of functions can institutionalize and operationalize its Data Governance Program.

    The main purpose of this position is to act as a data governance subject matter expert (SME) to implement a data governance framework, policy, standards, procedures, processes, technology, and corresponding operations.

    The Data Governance Specialist will lead, drive, implement and manage a large amount of change to reduce costs and risks, to increase efficiencies and to improve related products and services to internal and external constituents. The role will also serve as an educator to the corporate area of functions for data governance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Acts as a SME on data governance and key principles while using industry best practices to improve efficiencies, risk reduction, business opportunities and growth in support of corporate, divisional and mission objectives
    • Acts as liaison into the group enterprise data governance organization and helps to establish a working relationship with our partners
    • Supports and maintains the Corporate Chief Data Office steering committee terms of reference and operating model, in conjunction with the Group Data Program's Collaboration Model
    • Helps to establish the corporate data strategy, prioritized roadmap, alignment to the group policy framework, and acts as an implementation expert to our constituents.
    • Manages the Corporate CDO risk inventory and works with Group risk to manage, maintain, and eliminate risk on an on-going basis.
    • Supports the planning, supporting materials, adoption, and reporting for Group Data Policy conformance and the related control(s) framework
    • Supports change management projects as a lead SME, facilitator, decision-maker, and developer of content and other pertinent materials
    • Provides management of the data literacy, education, and training activities related to the corporate data governance program
    • Manages metadata business data dictionaries, glossaries, and catalogs for use across corporate and in compliance with group data policy requirements
    • Provides support for identification and inventory of priority data including critical data elements (CDEs) and the associated controls.
    • Supports the reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics and other management needs

    Key Behaviours and Skills Required to be successful in the Role

    Working Experience

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a major services organization, with data or project management and oversight experience.
    • Demonstrated management of strategic and tactical data management initiatives in a complex business structure
    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with data governance tools with focus on tools such as Collibra and/or Solidatus.
    • Experience with dashboards and associated tools such as PowerBI
    • In-depth knowledge of data governance industry best practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise data assets and approaches related to data protection.
    • Strong experience of regulator mandated programs with complex coordination requirements
    • In-depth knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
    • Demonstrated business and IT consulting skills, with change management and business process concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
    • Knowledge of industry best practices, market, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Standards, and other governing bodies relevant to the role
    • Experience with the risk management, controls, data architecture and technology solutions
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the documentation and management of issues related to data governance.

    Education

    • Bachelors or master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management, or Information Sciences
    • Data Quality, Management, IT, Data Science or Governance training or other relevant Certifications
