Structural Simulation Engineer for Reusable Modules (TM)

New automotive technologies and increasing safety regulations are leading product development to completely new levels. Head impact, side impact and pedestrian impact simulations are gaining more and more visibility, and require the setup of specific simulation models, for various finite element simulation solvers. We are looking for a talented structural simulation engineer, skillful in various meshing and modelling techniques, who can help us to build and to deliver the next generation of crash simulation models for our various interior product portfolio. By joining our team, you will become part of a global simulation community, where you can directly contribute to the crashworthiness of the future interior automotive products. In this technical role, you will deal with:

* Offer modelling support and explicit dynamic analyses for the development of display units, head-up displays, shark fin antennas;
* Prepare finite element models for crash simulations and perform sanity checks according to OEM specific standards;
* Optimize and validate structural components and systems;
* Participate in experimental validations: material testing, design validation, correlation activities;
* Collaborate with different technical units/departments as member of an international team;
* Prepare technical documents (i.e.: modelling guidelines, best practices, lessons learned).

To be successful, you need to have:
* 3+ years of experience in finite element analysis, with focus on meshing activities and explicit dynamic simulations;
* Experience with ALTAIR HYPERMESH - ANSA is also an advantage;
* Experience with LS-DYNA - other solvers e.g., PAMCRASH, ABAQUS, RADIOSS, NASTRAN are also an advantage;
* Advanced knowledge of structural mechanics, strength of materials, material modelling for metals and thermoplastics;
* BSc, MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering or comparable;
* Relevant experience in the automotive or similar industries;
* Good communication and organizational skills;
* Self-motivated and responsible way of working;
* Fluent spoken and written English;
* Considered as an advantage: CAD modelling, experience with implicit structural simulations (e.g., ANSYS Workbench), testing and modelling of thermoplastic and/or elastomer materials, automotive standards, German language, scripting (e.g., Python).
