    We're looking for a Senior Python Software Engineer to join our team working on Refinitiv Codebook. Refinitiv Eikon and Refinitiv Workspace are renowned the world over for the data they provide to financial markets professionals.


    Refinitiv Codebook adds a whole new dimension to this data, providing a cloud-hosted development environment for Python scripting, enabling our customers - including Wealth Advisors, Bankers, Asset Managers and Traders - to leverage the Refinitiv Data Platform APIs to rapidly build and deploy models, apps and analytics that fit their workflow needs.


    The role will see you working with cross functional teams delivering our Jupyter Lab based solution. You'll be working with AWS, EKS, Cloudfront and Serverless Lambda.


    You'll be working as part of the CodeBook development team and you'll take an active role in the design and development as we drive the product forward. You'll contribute to create solid, robust, resilient and performant product. As new technology offers opportunities, you'll also work with the team to produce POCs helping us to understand how we can make the best use of that technology to keep our solution ahead of the competition. You'll focus on quality and follow best practices, helping us ensure that we continue to delight our customers.

    Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

    • Providing technical Python expertise, ensuring implementation and software architecture are aligned with the global strategy
    • Participating with the Solution Architect in the overall product design (server and client side)
    • Working on the deliverables as a Senior Software Developer, following the best craftman practises (SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI ...)
    • Collaborating with the Product Owner to fulfil our business needs.
    • Helping lead and mentor junior Python developers to grow to their full potential.
    • Working in an iterative and incremental agile environment.
    • Maintaining existing systems, proactive monitoring and suggesting necessary changes to ensure good customer experience.
    • Ensuring good practices such as CI/CD and automated testing.
    • Taking accountability for quality of the deliveries.

    Essential Skills/Experience required

    • Experience with Python 3 development.
    • Experience with Git.
    • Experience in REST API development is a plus.
    • Experience in front end development is a plus.
    • Maintenance of widely used Applications and/or web services.
    • Scalability and performance oriented.

    Candidate will be competent in the following areas:

    • Experience with advanced Python 3 development (Python internals, Python language specificities, security management, ...) would be much appreciated.
    • Cloud Development: AWS, Azure, GC (AWS preferred). Experience in serverless containers and Docker.
    • Knowledge or experience with Jupyter Hub, Jupyter Notebook and Jupyter Lab would be a real plus.
    • Web services developments: Python 3
    • Knowledge in Document DB (DynamoDB, MongoDB) and relational DB (MySQL/MariaDB-like) is a plus
    • Some knowledge in TypeScript, JavaScript with any modern framework: Angular, React, Vue would be very helpful.
    • CI/CD, Automated testing
