    The Lead Developer is a member of the Agile Team responsible for implementing software development strategy for Capital Markets Shared Technology Products; they apply business requirements and knowledge of software
    development lifecycles to guide the development of complex software products or customer solutions.

    The Principal Developer drives their development teams forward through their technical expertise and talent development. They work as a part of a Scrum team utilising Continuous Integration and Behaviour Driven Development, and adopting DevOps practices.

    Role requirements:
    o Support Architects in designing technical solutions
    o Take a role in design and implementation of products and platforms
    o Hands on with deep technical expertise with knowledge that can be shared with the wider team
    o Advocate and evangelise best practice engineering
    o Have familiarity with security and operational best practices
    o Working in a modern, agile environment (e.g. Scrum / Kanban)
    o Promoting and driving innovation by actively advocating new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous development
    o Providing technical leadership across technology choices and leading and mentoring best practices
    o Producing clean efficient code based on specifications and developing components from UI to back end using modern languages and techniques
    o Creating and maintaining deployment tooling and automation to support the CI/ CD pipelines
    o Collaborating with team members on best practices, promoting effective cloud-based approaches and embracing agile methodologies to rapidly iterate solutions
    o Driving innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development
    o Have expertise in a set of the team's domains, including the breadth of services, how they interact, and data flows between systems
    o Able to work individually or with teams drawing on experience to recommend tooling and solutions aligning with organisational strategies. Influences organisation wide testing strategy
    o Guides teams in anticipation of future use cases and helps them make design decisions that minimise the cost of future changes
    o Actively contributes to security designs based on the organisation's security strategy. Fosters a security first mindset across teams, and leads by example. Has advanced knowledge of key security technologies,
    protocols & techniques (e.g. TLS, OAuth, Encryption, Networks)
    o Have the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-experts with eloquence and confidence.
    o Have an awareness and understanding of new technologies being used in finance and other industries and loves to experiment.
    o Have a passion for being part of the engineering team that is forming the future of finance.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
    o Experience with cross-platform and willingness to work on backend software and aspiring to Clean Coding
    o Experience with development of RESTful Web Services, in-depth knowledge of Java, event driven
    development, Microservice design patterns, Cloud configurations and deployments
    o Knowledge of Enterprise Container Platforms, experience with modern database technologies, and SCM,
    packaging and build tools - GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus
    o Experience of developing testing frameworks e.g. JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, of Test/ Behaviour Driven
    development and test automation
    o Proficient in using Jira/Confluence
    o Minimum 3 years experience building AWS cloud native services using EC2, S3, ECS, SQS, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.
    o Experience with "infrastructure as code" (IAC) and using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet, & Chef.
    o Excellent knowledge of Java, SpringBoot, Microservice architecture
    o Excellent knowledge of Object-oriented
    o Good understanding of different databases (Relational and NoSQL)
    o Practices Agile principles
    o Able to do code reviews/ mentor and train junior developers
    o Write highly available, maintainable and secure code
    o Good understanding of Web and Architectural design patterns
    o Great understanding of the Solid Principles, OWASP, CAP Theorem and Distributed Systems Design
    o Stakeholder Management and able to communicate well to all the team members
    o Experience with container technologies including Docker / Kubernetes
    o Wider Engineering technical expertise
