    Job role

    The Financial Accountant is responsible to prepare IFRS reporting to time and quality standards, including appropriate control evidence and enabling sufficient senior review opportunities, to assure accurate accounting for the allocated branches.  

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the assigned month and quarter end close activities including the review and posting of all required journal entries within Group closing deadlines, to ensure compliance with Group accounting standards;
    • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements, including preparation of supporting documentation and information required by external auditors;
    • Support in reconciliation and verification of policyholder tax submissions based on third party provider inputs
    • Support in the preparation of local GAAP results on a quarterly basis for European branches of the Company;
    • Liaise with Group centers to ensure all Group reporting requirements are met.

    Requirements
    •  University Degree (preferably Business Administration, Economics or Finance)
    • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
    • 3+ years experience in Accounting
    • SAP Knowledge
    • Knowledge of life assurance products and business;
    • Self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues;
    • Clear understanding of key business processes and strategic goals; anticipate the impact of economic and market trends
    • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of the life assurance business, or 1-2 years compliance, audit, legal or similar experience.

    Skills
    • Independent and intrinsically motivated; strong organizational skills with ability to work on own initiative; adaptable.
    • Good analytical skills, technical knowledge
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
    • Strong judgement, investigation skills and quantitative and analytical skills.
    • Clear and comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and legal environment.
    • Concurrent responsibilities do not impair ability to perform
    • Conduct to be honest, ethical and to act with integrity.
