    Job description

    As a User Interface Visual Designer at ORTEC you are (re)designing user interfaces of very complex systems in a multidisciplinary team! At ORTEC, we build enterprise software and services for world-leading companies. Currently we're becoming fully cloud-native and are developing new solutions for both web and mobile using the latest technologies. We're looking for a Visual/UI Designer to expand our development team and to help us on this amazing journey.

    As a Visual/UI Designer, you help to create usable, smart and beautiful applications for our customers worldwide. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is fun, easy-going and approachable. But at ORTEC, we're all very passionate about our craft and can be formal when necessary. Together with the UX designer in the team, you will be responsible for delivering pixel-perfect high-fidelity designs and prototypes that you have to hand-off to the developers in your team. You collaborate with the UX designer throughout the entire design and development processes, which means that you constantly verify your designs with stakeholders from ideation to actual implementation. You will discuss the feasibility of your designs with developers and further in the process you will support the developers when they run into any questions or unforeseen scenarios during development.

    Besides being part of a multidisciplinary development team, you will also be part of a department wide UX team, which consists of UX and Visual Designers that are part of other development teams. The department wide design the responsibility for addressing and upholding standards in UX and Visual Design throughout all ORTEC’s web and mobile user interfaces. Within this team, all designers get the chance to discuss and gather feedback about designs that they've created. As part of the UX department wide team, you also get to see what other teams are developing and you also contribute to those developments with your reviews and feedback. Together you are responsible to further develop, test and contribute to the ORTEC design system.

    Who you are
    It gives you energy to (re)design complex systems and concepts into understandable systems for enterprise software and services. You understand the importance of putting the user in the center of your designs, you are keen on upholding design standards and contributing to it and you have an open and approachable attitude.


    • You have at least 2 years of experience with designing user interfaces for web and mobile applications
    • You’re not just making wireframes pretty, but you think about how the user experience can be improved in all stages of development. Form follows function, you design to make things work.
    • You keep up with the ever-evolving world of digital design trends & standards
    • You have experience with working with a design system and contributing to it
    • You have fundamental experience with Figma
    • You speak and write English fluently
