Senior IT Deployment Engineer

The Software and Technical Authority (STA) IT Infrastructure Deployment team wishes to strengthen its expertise by hiring a Deployment System Engineer. Reporting to the STA IT Infrastructure Deployment team manager, the System Deployment Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the IT infrastructure, application of the security rules, high availably and testing in accordance with project’s needs defined in the architecture document. This responsibility applies to all stages of the project’s life cycle. The Deployment engineer must have a great understanding of medium to large IT systems and stay up to date with the latest security and IT standards and best practices.

Profile and soft skills:
-Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
-Working experience in at least the following domains:
-System IT deployment
-Networking
-Backup / Restore
-Administration Cloud environment or virtualized environment
-The ability to design a IT architecture is a plus
-Autonomous, rigorous, with a high sense of involvement.
-Used to work in international context (fluent English, intercultural skills).
-Knowledgeable in project life cycle to understand the constraints of the deployed solution and the teams, and in order to support them.
-Readiness to work under time constraints and able to adjust quickly to project demands.
-The Deployment Engineer must present expertise on almost three of following skills:
-Log management: definition of log collection architecture, configuration of local agents, knowledge of the Elastic stack
-Backup / restore system installation and management
-Monitoring implementation and Grafana dashboard.
-Deployment over Cloud & K8S
-System and Network:
-System OS : Windows / Linux
-Virtualization (ESXI, KVM, OracleVM, HyperV)
-O.S. Hardening on Windows, Linux,
-Right management: Active directory/LDAP.
-Antivirus configuration and deployment
-Reverse proxy
-Load balancer
-Applicative Firewall
-Firewall
-IPS Fortigate
-IDS/IPS Cisco
-Firewall O.S. (Windows, IPtables)
-VPN IPSec, VLAN
-Very good writing skills (English): Security policy, Test plan (Infrastructure), Administration guides (administration, deployment)

-Along the project stages, the Deployment engineer brings support to project teams, by providing IT system expertize to project integration team. He will be responsible to:
-Provide technical guidance and answer technical questions for project integration team on System IT (backup / OS / automation/..)  purpose.
-Review architecture on his/her perimeter of expertise; identify possible improvement; prepare cost estimates; deployment plan.
-Prepare/complete system documentation during the design/development/integration/tests stages; establish deployment guidelines/procedures for operational systems and administration.
-Deploy all Monitoring system in order to inform about software vulnerabilities and hardening to be compliant with the BU policy in term of vulnerability level.
-Manage partners to implement the infrastructure and validate the conformity.
-Update job knowledge by tracking with continuous improvement of existing tools and methodologies

Traveling

Missions to plan, 4 – 5 times a year, with a duration from some days to 3 weeks. Capacity to travel in MEA, APAC, LATAM and Europe zones (air travel).
