    Qualifications

    • Completed degree in Computer, Engineering or a comparable degree program; 
    • You have knowledge of system architecture, system design, requirements management of driver assistance and automation systems. You are also characterized by the experience you have already gained in the area of software development and the assessment of work packages; 
    • Several years of professional experience in the field of software and/or systems architecture, strong background and professional experience with system and/or software architecture; 
    • Innovative, team-oriented, able to communicate well and be persuasive; 
    • Self-organized and able to estimate, prioritize and schedule your own tasks; 
    • Capable of assessing the identified risks and defining a mitigation plan; 
    • Characterized by a high degree of flexibility and you can cope with a high level of dynamism and the strategy adjustments that are therefore necessary in this young business field; 
    • Experience with ASIL development; 
    • Willing to learn and adapt to the development of new technologies; 
    • Fluent in English, both verbal and written; 

    Nice to have: 

    • Experience in functional safety in the field of driver assistance systems and ideally you are enthusiastic about radar, video, lidar and computing technologies; 
    • Willingness to undertake business trips abroad for trainings and project work; 
    • German language;

    Job Description

    We are currently looking for a Software Architect for Rail Automation to work within our team. As autonomous driving is becoming a reality in the field of railways, you will be developing solutions and products that will shape the mobility of tomorrow. This comes as a need for the oncoming decades, where automated and connected road vehicles may become ubiquitous, maybe exceeding road infrastructure and potentially arrive at a stalemate. You are responsible for defining the architecture solutions for Tram and Rail automation products. 

    In your role you will: 

    • Be responsible for the software architecture of environment detection systems for the automation of rail vehicles; 
    • Design the overall system for SIL and non-SIL components; 
    • Be responsible for the definition and continuous review of system and software architecture under consideration of customer use cases; 
    • Align software and system architecture with application and algorithm developers, product owners, process experts and project management; 
    • Collaborate in coding small Proof-of-Concept (PoC) software components for fast feedback on innovative ideas; 
    • Define the component level architecture from the system level and the system level from use cases; 
    • Support acquisitions and estimation of work packages; 
    • Plan and implement new features and products as well as preparing decision templates for them; 
    • Accompany the process-compliant development according to railway standards EN 5012x, EN 50155 and EN 50657 with SIL; 
    • Work together with other teams, departments, and customers;
