    Role Purpose

    Working as part of the End User Computing organisation, the Director of Laptop and Mobile Products is responsible for vision, strategy, engineering, and level 3 escalation support for the Group's Windows and Mac laptop offerings, and iOS and Android mobile offerings.

    Role Responsibilities-

    • Leads the development and execution of strategy for our laptop and mobile offerings, aligning with strategic End User Computing and business objectives
    • Ensures the laptop and mobile offerings meet the experience, performance, security and functionality needs of the organisation
    • Understand vendor and industry landscape and trends in this domain, to map out a roadmap and execution plan that keeps the company at the forefront of technology delivery and user experience
    • Ensures the delivery organisation is properly resourced with appropriate planning for growth, and all the delivery teams have been trained in appropriate methodologies and understand their role in the organisation- Champions and delivers an agile delivery methodology and a continuous improvement framework to drive efficiency and enable business agility.
    • Champions and delivers a DevOps/SRE approach, engineering products for operational automation and self-service.
    • Implements a governance framework for technology delivery and to ensure appropriate reporting and remedial actions are being undertaken to keep programs on track- Manages, matures and elevates relationships with key suppliers, setting performance standards and managing the resolution of escalated service issues.
    • Manages relationships with key senior business stakeholders and partner Technology teams.
    • Considers user experience holistically, incorporating comms, marketing, user guides and supportability.

    Minimum Requirements

    • This is a People Manager role
    • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent
    • Significant experience in Financial Services preferred
    • Significant people management and multi-group management experience
    • Significant experience of Infrastructure Engineering and Operations, and strong understanding of (and passion for!) the laptop and mobile device technology area.
