    Qualifications

    • Completed degree in Computer, Engineering or a comparable degree program; 
    • You have in-depth knowledge of rail, safety standards and regulations such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50159 or Common Safety Methods (CSMs). Alternatively, you have very strong knowledge in the application of IEC 61508 or ISO 26262; 
    • You are experienced in handling the safety of deterministic and especially non-deterministic systems; 
    • You have knowledge about more recent safety approaches for non-deterministic systems like SOTIF and you are already familiar with driver assistance or automated driving systems based on surround sensors; 
    • You have knowledge of system architecture, system design, requirements management of driver assistance and automation systems. You are also characterized by the experience you have already gained in the area of software development and the assessment of work packages; 
    • Ideally you bring experience in national or international work groups or standard committees within the above topics and have a good overview of software development; 
    • Excellent communication skills with professional and positive attitude, ability to work in a global development team; 
    • Fluent in English, both verbal and written; 

    Nice to have: 

    • You have an affinity for railways and the enthusiasm to work in the railway industry; 
    • Willingness to undertake business trips abroad for trainings and project work; 
    • German language;

    Job Description

    We are currently looking for a Safety Expert for Rail Automation to work within our team. As autonomous driving is becoming a reality in the field of railways, you will be developing solutions and products that will shape the mobility of tomorrow. This comes as a need for the oncoming decades, where automated and connected road vehicles may become ubiquitous, maybe exceeding road infrastructure and potentially arrive at a stalemate. You will work in an international, growing development team with a worldwide customer network. 

    In your role you will: 

    • ensure that Bosch automotive components achieve their safety objectives in a wide range of railway applications; 
    • oversee the interface between the development team and assessor; 
    • make a significant contribution to the development of safety-related products by sharing your experience in the conception and definition of the architecture of new products; 
    • support acquisitions and estimation of work packages; 
    • plan and implement new features and products as well as prepare decision templates for them; 
    • accompany the process-compliant development according to railway standards; 
    • lead the development teams through the RAMS lifecycle phases and provide guidance with the application of well-known rail standards and regulations; 
    • work together with other teams, departments, and customers;
