Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of testing a software product and what really happens when a website is not working? QA is more than just testing software. In SMB Product Romania we test limits, we test software integration, we ask questions, we communicate closely with developers and product owners, we put us in the shoes of those who are going to use our products and we develop automated tests. For us QA is more than just writing a test case or just manually test a product. As a QA Engineer Working Student in SMB Product Romania you will have the opportunity to  test and validate our developed products, detect and report found defects from an early product configuration phase, as well as assist other QAs. You will contribute in setting up quality oriented test strategies through building up the best reliable user experience for customers looking to create their dream website on their own, while manually testing new product features before and after production releases and using our automation regression framework. You will have all the help and support you need from the QA team, especially from one experienced colleague, who will have dedicated time for on-boarding and guiding you through the QA testing flow, helping you learn our technologies and products, for successfully completing your first tasks.

Main responsibilities:

•  Join a cross-functional Agile team and be responsible for manually testing and validating new and existing functionalities and designs, working directly with the product management and development colleagues to help deliver high-quality features;
•  Checking if the product complies with the requirements;
•  Create test scenarios based on requirements, specifications and technical design documents;
•  Maintain the test documentation up to date based on requirements changes;
•  Perform functional / non-functional manual tests, integration, smoke, automation regression tests;
•  Analyze and report testing results;
•  Identify problematic areas and log discovered defects;
•  Discuss fixes with developers;
•  Track the life cycle of errors;
•  Re-test fixed defects;
•  Estimate, plan and execute testing activities;
•  Participate and contribute in the team’s Scrum process;
•  Support automation engineers in designing and developing new automated testing solutions.

•  BS degree or currently studying in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent;
•  Creativity, attention to details and curiosity for testing web application software from a customer oriented perspective;
•  Good analytical skills with an eagle eye for details and interested in Quality Assurance;
•  Knowledge of software development life-cycle and methodology;
•  Basic understanding of software QA methodologies, tools and processes;
•  Familiarity with web application manual testing techniques;
•  Algorithmic and oriented towards problem solving thinking;
•  Being a great team player, fast learner, highly-motivated and self-driven;
•  Having a proactive mindset, willing to share out of the box ideas and bring them to life;
•  Very good communication and self-organizing skills;
•  Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

•  Knowledge of OOP concepts and Java;
•  Basic knowledge of  test automation frameworks;
•  Agile/SCRUM methodologies know-how;
•  Basic Linux skills;
•  Familiarity with version-control systems such as Git;
•  Knowledge of Test Automation principles and best practices (e.g. The Testing Pyramid).
