Data Visualisation Developer

This is a hands-on experienced dashboards developer role with full end to end cycle development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will oversee metric and visualisation design across all domains involved actively with architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native, web-scale data science products

This is a hands-on dashboards developer role with full end to end cycle development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will oversee metric and visualisation design across all domains involved actively with architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native, web-scale data science products.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Assist the Technology COO Centre of Excellence with the design, development and maintenance of Business Objects, Tableau and Power BI dashboards, applications, and reports.
• Work with the Business Analysts, Java Developers, End Users, System level DBAs, Sys Admins and QA teams when appropriate
• Develop and support an enterprise data warehouse and reporting environment, to deliver accurate and insightful business intelligence that advises the business to make strategic and tactical decisions and provides individuals with the information they need to perform their roles more effectively
• Understand business requirement and plan solution to address data needs
• Partner with tech teams and business professionals to develop metrics aligned with domain priorities
• Prepare reports using various visualization and data modelling methods
• Develop, design, and maintain dashboards and analytics
• Collect data from various sources and normalize it
• Test and publish dashboards
• Solving any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources
• Monitoring reports and dashboards and make necessary change
• Manage implementations, architecture, and administration
• Actively manage the performance and usability of Data Visualisation systems

Key behaviours and skills required to be successful in the role:

• 3+ years' experience in business intelligence and analytics: Business Objects, Power BI, Power BI Report Builder or Tableau
• Good data visualisation design skills and experience of data modelling
• Sound knowledge and experience in Power BI Products and versions
• Understand and transform stakeholder expectations into technical requirement
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in maintaining and managing Power BI server
• Experience using SQL for data preparation, will be a plus
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving (requirements analysis, documentation, specification, testing)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Good communication skills and engagement with Stakeholders (business and technical)
• Experience of the challenges and best practices of BI in OnPrem and Cloud environments.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and coach other team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns that lead to high-quality maintainable solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
