In Romania, Goodyear Dunlop has been present since 1999 and it is represented by two different legal entities, Goodyear Dunlop Tires (Sales Office) and Goodyear Operations.
Goodyear Operations Romania is the Global Business Services Center of Goodyear Dunlop EMEA. The GBS Center in Bucharest started back in July 2011. The core mission of the Center has always been to provide internal customer satisfaction with the shared responsibility of delivery - Driving performance as ONE TEAM.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Diploma holder who is currently pursuing professional qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience in general and/or financial accounting, billing
• Strong communication skills
• Competency with computer systems: database, spreadsheet, ERP-based financial system (SAP)
• Ability to comprehend and communicate financial information to various audiences.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Demonstrate high reliability and self-motivation
• Drive accountability and results
• Fluency in English, spoken and written
• Analysis skills;
• Nice to have, Romanian VAT Compliance knowledge and basic understanding of EU VAT principles.
Reporting directly to the VAT EMEA Coordinator, the VAT Accountant supports the monthly/quarterly/annual VAT and INTRASTAT compliance processes under the guidance of the VAT Cluster leader and with the support of our external service provider, in order to ensure that VAT returns and reports and Intrastat statements, for the countries in scope, are filed timely and accurately.
Some of the activities will include:
• Properly use tools in order to ensure observation of internal policies and procedures
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other departments
• Review of VAT related entries posted in SAP/ Meridian tool
• Data extraction and communication with external provider
• Perform adjustments to SAP data in order to ensure correctness of VAT returns and communicate such adjustments to external provider
• Provide additional support to our external services provider in relation to VAT data required for returns preparation
• Perform monthly reconciliations of VAT accounts
• Perform high level review of draft VAT returns provided by our external service provider
• Keep informed on VAT updates in reporting countries
• Initiate payment process for the countries in scope
• Liaise with the European AP / Accounting / Customs teams to ensure VAT compliance across all jurisdictions is accurate
Main Duties And Responsibilities
• Support the monthly/quarterly/annual VAT compliance and INTRASTAT processes in order to provide the required data for the preparation of VAT returns/ INTRASTAT statements for the countries in scope.
• Calculate required VAT adjustments for the preparation of the returns and process VAT journals in order to properly maintain the VAT accounts
• Escalate complex issues faced and track the resolution process accordingly.
• Perform account reconciliations for the accounts assigned
