    About the role


    We are looking for a strong Java developer to design and program complex software application using latest technologies for cloud platforms. Should have skills to design and develop high performing, resilient, fault tolerant and robust software applications applying latest standards using agile methodologies. Should be capable of troubleshooting complex interactions between software components in timely manner. Should be working with various team members and be able to co-ordinate software development timelines across multiple teams.

    Experience and Skills:

    • Specialist, experienced professional with extensive knowledge and skills gained through wide-ranging experiences in a JAVA, AWS and Agile methodologies that requires diverse practices or procedures
    • Deep knowledge of JAVA, AWS
    • In-depth understanding of a complex software design patterns, algorithms
    • Works on issues of a diverse scope where analysis of situations requires skills and understanding of current industry trends


    Scope of Impact:

    • Leads significant projects, programs and business initiatives, demonstrating creativity and ingenuity in implementing solutions
    • Determines work priorities based on general direction from managers
    • Will need to design cost and performance optimized solutions for the business applications
    • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts that will guide business concepts
    • Provides specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues


    Strategic Planning and Decision Making:

    • Applies a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
    • Anticipates customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions
    • Solves complex problems which may be multidisciplinary or require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
    • Makes decisions in non-routine situations applying considerable interpretative thinking


    Responsibilities:

    • Manages, researches, and recommends external and internal tools and applications
    • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
    • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements.
    • Serves as an expert or liaison for technology issues
    • Leads or works on multiple projects with varying levels of complexity and acts as oversight and escalation contact
    • May/Will mentor individuals within the group. Researches, analyses and resolves complex problems and issues
    • Resolves escalated problems and provides guidance to other in problem resolution. Provides incident management as needed
    • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets
    • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems
    • Helps and manages team resources in accordance with project schedule. Ensures project deadlines and schedules are met. Regularly communicates and shares knowledge with the rest of the team, department, and management. Facilitates cross organizational and client meetings
    • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations. Provides input to team for presentations and facilitates team discussion
    • Ensures compliance with department, company, and industry standards, methodology, and policies
    • Consistently delivers high-quality services to clients. Establishes new processes and procedures. Responsible for the overall quality of deliverables


    Engineering:

    • Participates in project planning sessions with business analysts and team members to analyse requirements and provides design recommendations for complex systems
    • Works with project teams to define and design scope for each project
    • Evaluates and makes recommendations for buy versus build decisions
    • Works closely with planning and technology architect to assure all systems are in-line with long-term strategies
    • Provides design recommendations, develops application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces
    • Responsible for writing complex design specifications. Translates business and technical requirements into cross-functional business application systems, providing custom integration solutions including major system enhancements
    • Collaborates in setting development guidelines
    • Makes complex modifications to existing software applications in accordance with high level specifications and industry standards
    • Reviews effort to ensure compliance to application architecture standards
    • Carries out unit testing and implements cross functional systems ensuring system meets needs of client and business
    • Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams


    Information Security:

    • Manages and evaluates corporate security and mitigates risks associated with confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Company's information assets
    • Oversees and approves technical requirements for new IT security solutions; implementing and delegating as required
    • Regularly provides assessment of exceptions identified from review of system, application logs and custom monitoring tools, alerts, usage-based events and follow up, as necessary
    • Performs and evaluates application security reviews on an ongoing basis using industry standard tools
    • Identifies department's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement. Keep abreast of, understand, and analyse security trends, issues, technology and business environment
    • Reviews change management requests for security relevance & impact and suggests potential solutions
    • Communicates needed changes and potential risk to development team and leadership as needed. Promote awareness and education of security matters
    • Understand the organizations technical security policies, the code of business conduct and ethics in order to translate into requirements for technical and non-technical staff


    IT Audit and Compliance:

    • Coordinates, plans, and executes information technology compliance and regulatory audits
    • Executes and manages all aspects of audit efforts including planning, preparation, audit reports, fieldwork, and follow-up activities
    • Participates in risk mitigation sessions for new projects or processes and ensure that all significant regulatory risks are identified and accounted for appropriately
    • Evaluates remediation plans and provide consultative support as to the interpretation of regulations and their implementation
    • Makes recommendation for the resolution of issues identified in the audit process. Leads small project teams for audits that range from simple to complex
    • Identifies compliance risks that need to be addressed. Rate issues based upon the level of risk to facilitate prioritization
    • Facilitates the organization's compliance awareness and understanding of business impact.
    • Responds to inquiries about the Company's compliance status and controls
    • Communicates and presents audit results to control owners and management. Prepares and delivers presentations for control owners and management
    • Understand the organizations technical security policies, the code of business conduct and ethics in order to translate into requirements for technical and non-technical staff
