    Storage Automation Engineer Responsible for managing the LSEG data storage infrastructure, ensuring enterprise storage services for LSEG are resilient and performant. In-depth knowledge of: Ansible Terraform Python ELK Grafana DellEMC enterprise storage systems Dell Isilon and ECS unstructured data systems Hitachi enterprise storage systems PURE storage systems and replication Brocade SAN Automation and scripting using vendor toolsets Responsibilities of role: Log and own all assigned projects, incidents, problems and requests relating to storage and manage them through to restoration or resolution in accordance with the service level agreements to meet business needs. Provide regular updates on progress of incidents and requests to ensure satisfaction with the service before closing the incident or service request. Prioritize and clearly account for work. Ensure that time recording for BAU and project activities are accurately recorded. Drive the automation of everything to achieve Storage as a Service. Assess work requests from clients and infrastructure teams to provide time and cost estimates and scheduling options. Work with other teams to produce quotes and project estimates. Involved in evaluation and procurement of new storage systems and will work closely with colleagues in architectural team to assess operational suitability of storage platforms. Procedures and documentation developed to ensure successful transition of storage platforms into operational support. Skills and knowledge transfer to global support teams. Work with and understand a range of storage related technologies across multiple platforms hosted internally. Comprehend and maintain professional knowledge across main and niche providers in conjunction with the architecture team. Be self-motivated in keeping technical knowledge up to date liaising with partners and vendors to do so. Provide hands-on technical knowledge where required to ensure service is maintained to agreed service levels and projects are delivered. Provide out of hours support to the offshore teams and for escalated issues. Understand the technology direction for the storage service and apply this to technical designs and solutions. Develop technical design overviews and business cases for projects. Work closely with the service and change management teams to ensure that all changes, operational and project comply with the minimum services standards and that service risks are minimized and the service excellence process is a key area of focus. Ensure that the currency of the storage estate is maintained, highlighting requirements to refresh or replace technology to management in a pro-active and timely manner. Ensure that licensing and asset management is accurate, up to date and compliant. Capacity management and demand management including an awareness of data retention policies within LSEG. Soft skills for role: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including to ability to articulate complex issues and activities at an appropriate level for the audience. To work within the standards and guidelines of LSEG with an understanding and appreciation of the objectives of the business and services provided. A capabillity to develop effective working relationships with both business clients and internal colleagues is beneficial.
