    Profile

    As a thought leader and subject matter expert, the Senior Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for the management and guiding the DevOps by supporting the DevOps Manager. DevOps team is responsible for supporting product development life cycle, non-functional testing, infrastructure management (on-prem and cloud), release delivery, solutions design, and customer implementations by adhering to DevOps best practices. To achieve best business outcome, the person will also be responsible leading delivery of major releases within the team managed by the DevOps Manager. Further he/she will also contribute towards devising strategies and managing internal and external customers.

    Over time, the effectiveness of this individual will be measured by improvements in:

    • Stakeholder management
    • People management
    • Optimum use of on-prem and Cloud infrastructure
    • Budget and Cloud cost management
    • Contribution to DevOps team Strategy which encompasses release delivery, non-functional testing, and Cloud.

    The Senior Lead DevOps Engineer will directly report to DevOps Manager of the program.

    Key Responsibilities

    People Management

    • Build and lead an effective team that works collaboratively toward achieving the project and organisation's goals
    • Build and foster employee engagement and upskill team members
    • Define and implement strategies to attract, develop, appraise, and retain talented DevOps Engineers.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Work along with DevOps Manager to develop and implement a stakeholder management strategy.
    • Build an excellent and highly efficient working relations with stakeholder and drive towards best business outcomes

    Infrastructure and Budget Management

    • Ensure SDLC infrastructure resources are configured, secured and finetuned for maximum performance and minimum operational risk and is also geared for business continuity.
    • Preparation and management of delivery team's IT budget and management
    • Ensure Cloud resources are optimally used to ensure cost are under control and within budget

    Strategy and other areas

    • Play a key role in defining DevOps team Strategy and Contribute towards organisational strategy formulation and execution.
    • Contribute and maintain non-functional, implementation and DevOps best practices
    • Contribute towards technical improvements and operability of our products
    • Puts in place suitable governance structure to ensure team is following best practices and adherence to policies.
    Minimum Requirements
    • Masters or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Deep understanding in the modern SDLC and practices and DevOps tools
    • Expert understanding of application implementation, performance, fault tolerance architecture of financial system.
    • Good knowledge of configuration management and continuous integration tools
    • Strong communication and documentation skills
    • Experience in Stakeholder management in a large Capital Market project
    • Proven HR & leadership skills, ability to lead medium sized teams with hierarchies. Should have excellent people development skills.
    • At least 7 years' experience in the industry and at least two years in lead capacity in a DevOps role
