Junior Scrum Master – Summer Internship ProgrammeFinastra are one of the worlds’ largest fintechs and we’re currently hiring Scrum Masters to join our 3-month summer internship programme. This scheme is suited to candidates in their third or final year of study who are looking to get an insight into a Scrum Master role and we’ll provide you with mentorship and training throughout the programme to help you develop your skills. You’ll need to be able to start the internship in early June and it will last for 12 weeks.
What You’ll Do
Scrum Masters work with a broad set of team members and are focused on deploying new products into Cloud infrastructure, existing product support architecture, workload automation and data management. As a Scrum Master you’ll guide your team to work effectively in an Agile environment by mentoring them on how to use Scrum practices to improve the organisation of their work. During the internship you ’ll be responsible for :
- Leading, coaching and developing a team by operating as a Servant Leader
- F acilitating Scrum/Agile practices including Daily Stand Ups, Sprint and Release Planning, Sprint Retrospectives and Backlog refinement activities to drive projects to successful release
- Facilitating discussion, decision making and conflict resolution and supporting internal and external stakeholder communication to improve transparency and build trusted relationships
- Monitoring progress of your team members and empowering them to achieve their goals so that they are focused on being accountable, adaptable and collaborative
- Identifying roadblocks and guiding the team to remove impediments, escalating issues where needed
- Integrating technology into employee workflows to increase speed and accuracy that improves results and emphasizing continuous improvement
- Monitoring and reporting on Agile metrics and team performance through burndown charts, release predictability charts or other progress reports
- You’ll have knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, KanBan ) and understand how to keep a team engaged and on task to meet sprint goals
- You’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to build trusted and open relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and team members
- You’ll thrive working in an ever-evolving environment and are comfortable working independently with a self-starter approach to balancing priorities
- You’ll be able to demonstrate good critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong drive to achieve results
