Cloud Engineer @Tech Amigos Labs

We are a team of cloud architects, agile fanatics and DevOps engineers, on a mission to help small and medium businesses with cloud adoption and their digital transformation journey.

• 2+ years experience in a DevOps, platform engineering or SRE role

• Experience continuously delivering software in a microservice or service oriented environment

• Kubernetes experience - e.g:
- Core APIs and operation
- Custom Resources and an understanding of “Operator” and “Controller” patterns
- K8s networking and security fundamentals
- Continuous delivery in K8s
- Horizontal autoscaling (node, pod)
- Ingress and DNS management

• Software delivery in AWS - e.g.:
- AWS Container platforms (preferably EKS)
- AWS networking fundamentals (security groups, NACLs, gateways, routing, peering)
- AWS IAM fundamentals (preferably cross-account)
- Some experience with data layers: S3, EBS, DynamoDB, RDS (Postgres)
- Experience running HA services

• Infrastructure as Code pipelines (preferably Terraform)

• Graduate in Computer Science or related field

• Must be able to converse in English and have excellent communication skills

• Must demonstrate self-discipline and organisation skills.

You'll shine if you can demonstrate:

• Experience writing Golang: small or big projects
• Contribution to a terraform provider, or kubernetes controller
• Experience scaling applications (1000s rps+)
• Experience managing databases in cloud environments (e.g. DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with Kubernetes Gitops tooling (e.g. ArgoCD, FluxCD)
• Linux system configuration and automation
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, OSI layers)

We welcome submissions including examples and pointers to projects demonstrating the above.

• Work with product owner and head of engineering to understand and plan feature delivery.
• Build, and test new features on the platform, while ensuring continued reliability and quality.
• Engage in Research & Development exercises, prototyping, proving hypotheses and raising standards with industry best practices
• Partake in peer review (design and implementation)
• Adopt and improvise the engineering process that can help deliver a high quality world-class platform.
• Proactively keep abreast of industry developments, skills and technologies and share information, ideas and best practice with development team members to improve software quality
