    Junior Quantitative Risk Analyst

    Role Purpose

    Quantitative Risk Analyst will work on conducting the validation and independent review of models across LSEG to provide independent assurance that the covered models are fit for purpose. The analyst will carry out tests of risk analytics models, write validation reports and summarise finding issues to clearly communicate to stake holders and Senior Management. The role provides learning and growth opportunities from risk analytics models and their model risks perspective. The incumbent will be exposed to different areas of asset classes, risk management tools and a variety of modelling approaches and frameworks.

    LSEG Model Risk Management provides oversight for the models across the firm covering model governance and validation. This role is focused on validation of models.

    Accountabilities

    LSEG Risk models are concentrated in Post Trade, where they are used to capture price movements in clearing house portfolios. Validate models with focus on risk analytics models to detect and quantify model risk under supervision of senior model expert:

    • Review and challenge risk analytics models developed in LSEG
    • Assess the conceptual soundness and appropriateness of different risk models and their usages.
    • Perform related risk model sensitivity tests, back testing and benchmark analysis
    • Develop benchmarking models to quantify the model's risks
    • Run analyses on implementations to assess their correctness and stability
    • Carry out and document independent model validation- interact and discuss with first line risk model developers and second line risk teams
    • Liaise with relevant data architecture and technology controllers
    • Assist senior risk and business management in all aspects of pricing model risks
    • Support and work with a strong team spirit

    Personal Qualities & Experience

    Are you curious about data analytics? Do you enjoy understanding models and their background? Are you organized with an eye for detail?

    • MS or above degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or similar technical background
    • Strong knowledge of financial models, statistical analysis, VaR/ES risk models and numerical algorithm
    • Excellent coding skills within a professional environment (Python, C++/C#)
    • Motivated in learning risk analytics models
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, proven writing skills
    • Preferable to have up to 2 years' experience in ideally Model Validation, Front Office Quant or Risk Quant role in investment banks, fund management firms or clearing houses
    • A natural inclination to challenge established ways of thinking and an ability to articulate your opinion
