    Role Purpose

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is a global leader in data and analytics, providing a broad range of investment solutions and indices, trading workflow, capital market and wealth advisory, and risk intelligence. We work as a partner to our customers in every major global market.

As part of an initiative to accelerate the Group's technology transformation and migration to public cloud, we are seeking an experienced full-time candidate to join the Technology Centre of Enablement team.

As application teams migrate to the cloud, modernise their CI/CD and quality engineering processes and undergo other technology transformations, they will be guided by a team of Enablement Partners that can help them follow best practice, choose appropriate solution designs and architectures, plan significant change programs and tap into services and resources that will accelerate their programs of work.

As an Enablement Partner Lead, successful candidates will spend part of their time as an Enablement Partner and part of their time managing their team of Enablement Partners - providing leadership and guidance and ensuring that the service offered to customers is continuously improved.

    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal delivery partners, establishing credibility and trust as a trusted advisor

    • Manage a team of Enablement Partners at senior associate level in accordance with the company frameworks and values.

    • Understanding the unique requirements of application teams in the lines of business with which you and your team will interact

    • Guiding teams to relevant content in the CoE Knowledge Base, ensuring that the best material developed by application teams with which you work is made available to the wider community

    • Ensure internal customers are able to access specialist advice, services and products from the COE, and external specialist vendors in support of their migration plans or overall DevOps and SLDC execution maturity

    • Ensuring that the Enablement Partner team captures sufficient data about its customer interactions to be able to measure the success of the team and its customers, contributing to enterprise level performance metric data.

    • Nurture CoE community and fostering peer-to-peer interaction by encouraging contacts to participate in CoE events and groups

    Critical deliverables

The role is responsible for delivery of the following:

    • Establishing new work reception processes and triage activity is in place for COE operations

    • Generation of coherent transformation roadmaps and resource requirements in support of application migration and COE product adoption projects

    • Facilitate the governance bodies that will oversee the unit spend and cross charging of efforts to investment pots held by application teams

    • Management of demand pipelines from internal customers into the various services that the COE offers, to ensure that support is available to application teams at the right times

    • Act as an advocate for the development team, working to understand and mitigate challenges and gaps with regards to all aspects of the COE processes

    • Producing regular and ad hoc reports covering the COE execution, benefit realisation and financial position

    Impact

In recognition of our IT Strategic focus themes (Agility, Resiliency, Efficiency and Cyber improvement) and in support of the Cloud adoption agenda, it has been necessary to mobilise the Cloud & Technology Centre of Enablement.

It is recognised that 60% of our data centre assets should migrate to Public Cloud over the next 3 years. In doing so, we are asking hundreds of development teams across the Group to learn new skills in building and operating non-production and production cloud infrastructure under a different operating model.

The Centre of Enablement is primarily about giving development teams the necessarily knowledge and skills to execute. Alongside their day-to-day deliverables to the lines of business they support, application teams are accountable for delivering against several Group-wide transformation projects. To deliver on their commitments, application teams will need to navigate the organisation and up-skill in a number of different areas. The CoE seeks to be the "one stop shop" for application team support in transformation work.

And CoE is also about reducing the risk of transformation. By getting things right early in the design and build cycles and using standardised approaches to the similar problems, we can avoid the need for risk acceptance of operational or cyber issues discovered late in the project and avoid solution fragmentation that then manifests itself in complexity in other parts of the organisation.

CoE recognises that different application teams will need different levels of transformation support. The CoE will provide various services - from "no touch" services, for teams that feel confident in their skills and capacity but need guidance on navigating the organization - through to "high touch" services, where skills and capacity are needed for successful execution. Application teams will be assessed against a standardised industry "maturity" benchmark. This will help teams in planning their transformation efforts.

It is necessary to co-ordinate the engagement and interactions between development teams, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), specialist vendor resources and the COE groups internal services. Enablement partners will align with divisions as "first port of call" for teams to seek help, to establish COE demand pipelines and create transformation Roadmaps.

Specialist Cloud vendors will be managed as a select panel to better respond to demand pipelines, with favourable commercial terms. A streamlined onboarding experience will be established to accelerate contracts and mobilisation. Vendor resources will undertake a pre-onboarding orientation and certification program so that high quality resources are effective on day 1 (reducing wasted time/spend) and monitoring performance to recycle the best resources.

    KPIs

    • Adoption of COE products and services across the Technology Organisation
    • Demonstrable reduction in delivery costs realised because of COE intervention
    • Delivery of LSEG People practices in accordance with company standards
    • Identification and mitigation of delivery risks
    • Delivery time into cloud reduced; elimination of duplication of effort with regards to process and architecture
    • Adherence to company standards in operating an SDLC

    Technical / job functional knowledge

The following are preferred skill requirements for the role:

    • AWS Cloud Practitioner and/or Azure Fundamentals certifications or equivalent on-the-job experience
    • An appreciation of different approaches to assess cloud & DevOps maturity (e.g. DORA)
    • An understanding of cloud, toolchain and related technologies (e.g. AWS & Azure services, Terraform, Gitlab)

    Business and sector expertise

    • Experience in financial industry/services highly beneficial
    • Programme Management / Transformation experience highly beneficial

    Leadership and management experience

    • Experience in managing teams to achieve success through others, nurturing talent and supportive leadership behaviours
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • High degree of professional maturity when interacting with senior internal and stakeholders

    Personal skills and capabilities

    • Knowledge of one or more LSEG business areas or equivalent related industry experience
    • A proven ability to establish working practices and guardrails for their team to operate within.
    • High degree of focus on leading a more junior team to achieve excellence, providing support, coaching, guidance and oversight
    • Ability to deliver through ambiguity with a positive can-do attitude
    • Whilst successful candidates need not be fully fledged cloud architects, they will be expected to have an appreciation of the challenges involved in migrating to public cloud in a large enterprise
    • An understanding of the benefits of modern SDLC approaches including Agile & SAFe and CI/CD
    • A customer-oriented mindset: an ability to advocate for customer requirements in conversations with peers and the wider Centre of Enablement team
