Required Experience & Skills:

2-4 year work experience in a Big 4 environment or in the internal audit department from an internationally recognized company
• Bachelor’s degree – can be in diverse areas (Accountancy, Finance or Economics)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, control procedures and audit
techniques.
• One or more of the following certifications desired, even in progress: ACCA, Certified Internal Auditor, Certification in Control Self-Assessment, Certified Information Systems Auditor, CAFR.
• Very good Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on strong Excel skills and Data Analytics tools
• Very good oral and written English
• Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with tight deadlines, ability to work both in a team and individually, dynamic, organized, ambitious, attentive to details and goal oriented person.

Position Summary - main task and responsibilities:

Assist in the development and continued assessment of a unique Audit Universe covering all locations and business processes.
• Create or assist in the creation of the audit planning documentation, such as: project budgets, scoping assessments and audit programs.
• Ensure adequate execution and completion of audit assignments in terms of both time and quality, in line with the established methodology and audit plan.
• Ensure that the audit results and conclusions are adequately communicated at the end of the audit.
• Assist in determining that adequate corrective action on reported audit findings is timely taken and is achieving the desired results.
• Follow-up on the adequate and effective implementation of prior audit recommendations.
• Develop and maintain effective communications throughout the company and within the global Smithfield audit team.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in their implementation.
• Provide and maintain a co-operation program with the external auditors ensuring adequate audit coverage, avoiding duplication of work and making use of each other’s work to the maximum extent possible.
• Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.

The Smithfield Foods, Inc internal audit department is currently seeking an Internal Auditor to support its Smithfield Romania operating companies, whose primary headquarters are located in Timisoara. The Senior Internal Auditor will assist in executing a coordinated risk assessment and audit planning process, execute financial, operational and compliance audits, management requests, as well as work closely with and partner with operating company management. The Senior Internal Auditor will have a direct reporting responsibility and accountability to the Manager – Internal Audit, Smithfield Romania.
