Purchasing Specialist for Embedded Software and R&D Services TM

Job Description:

As a specialist in the purchasing of embedded software and Research and Development (R&D) services, you will be independently responsible for the tasks of strategic purchasing in this material group within the purchasing department of Continental Automotive.

* Definition of supplier / market strategies considering the requirements of the individual internal customers (e.g. R&D).
* Supporting the early integration of suppliers for innovation projects in order to develop new technologies and the corresponding know-how.
* Initiation and participation in the evaluation of suppliers as well as ensuring the establishment of development suppliers and their integration into the development process.
* Supplier management in collaboration with other functions (e.g. R&D).
* Conduct requirements analysis / price / contract / project negotiations on a yearly basis.
* Implementation of innovative negotiation concepts during project awards.
* Presentation and implementation of purchasing strategy to actively influence supplier selection.
* Development of trustful and reliable partnerships (internal / external).

Job Requirements:

* Completed studies in the field of computer science / engineering or in a comparable field of study, coupled with relevant professional experience.
* Several years of professional experience in purchasing / development / quality (SQM); ideally in R&D SW development.
* In-depth, relevant knowledge with international sourcing of embedded software in the automotive industry is beneficial.
* Independent working style, high diligence and sense of responsibility.
* Ability to work in a team, confident appearance as well as good manners in combination with assertiveness.
* Very good negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to capture complex relationships and information and present them visually.
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken), German is a plus.
* Desire to work in an international team - mobility is therefore a prerequisite.
