Value Analysis Engineer (remote/ WFH)

For our client, a global company providing a full range of solutions including lasers for precision industrial and scientific research applications we are looking for an exceptional Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) Engineer within the Global Commodity Management group who will be part of a team that identifies cost-out opportunities, develops business cases and builds implementation plans with the appropriate functions to enable value while minimizing risk.

What will you bring to the team, along with your creativity and leadership is:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or business-related discipline, preferred Masters
- 5+ years of experience in Engineering or Supply Chain
- experience in working with CAD is necessary
- experience with VA/ VE and should-cost modelling programs
- experience managing or effectively working within multifunctional, multicultural global teams
- advanced level of English is mandatory
- exceptional oral and written communication skills to build supporting networks
- interpersonal and leadership skills with executive-level presentation proficiency

You will have the opportunity to further develop career by:
- planning and coordinating engineering activities to develop and apply standardized design criteria and production requirements for parts and equipment used; establish and maintain liaison between engineering and other departments to formulate and apply design criteria and production requirements for proposed products
- conducting analytics and cost modelling to assist management in setting cost targets; this includes challenging specifications and should-costing parts to identify potential for cost reductions.
- developing and harmonizing a gated VA/ VE process with functional organizations (Engineering, Commodity Management, Procurement, Manufacturing) to drive resource allocation and pacing through the lifecycle of project ideas; this includes ideation, business case development, activity planning, project execution & value realization
- driving implementation of project plans until full value capture is realized; build and codifiy cost analysis knowledge and capabilities
- developing should-cost models to support the Commodity Managers' analysis and strategies
- analysing product design, generating cost optimization ideas through rigorous cost data analysis and/or developing new approaches to established processes
