    We are looking for a Reliability Engineer in the Capital Markets Business Infrastructure Services area to enhance our Site Reliability Engineering function. You will be part of a talented team of agile engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of ongoing availability, performance and security.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage, deliver and monitor a number of key improvements to the current installed systems and infrastructure;
    • Drive enhancements to the environment from conception through to implementation;
    • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools;
    • Provide an advanced level of support to the existing environment when required;
    • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability;
    • Monitor IT Infrastructure performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with 2nd and 3rd level engineers to provide resolutions;
    • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies;
    • Design and construct CI/CD pipelines to automate routine build and testing activities;
    • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks;
    • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems;
    • Work with an issue/problem management system to ensure services are provided according to relevant SLA(s);
    • Escalate risks and issues and provide frequent status reports for management;
    • Write and maintain appropriate documentation for manual and automated processes;
    • Understand existing complex environments and be able to easily identify problem areas and undertake successful implementations to resolve and/or mitigate;
    • Assist in the delivery of the monthly patching cycle;
    • Assist with ad-hoc out of hours / weekend changes where required.


    The Person:

    • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role;
    • Working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux environments;
    • Experience with Automation, CI/CD, Cloud and packaging software (Ansible, Control-M, Jenkins, git, rpm, AWS, Azure, GCP);
    • Experience with Big Data (Hive, Spark, Zookeeper, HBase, Oozie, Impala, Solr, Yarn, Mapreduce, HDFS);
    • Scripting skills and IaC (Shell scripts, Python, HashiCorp products);
    • Experience with monitoring systems (Nagios, Big Panda, Moogsoft, Elastic);
    • Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker);
    • Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP);
    • Database Knowledge (Oracle PL/SQL, PostgreSQL);
    • Be self-driven and capable to working to tight deadlines.
