    • 2–7 years with a reputed firm in Chemical Research and Analysis
    • Good knowledge of databases and latest MS Office tools
    • Graduate/Post-graduate in chemical engineering/chemistry/polymer technology
    • Seasoned research professional with a strong focus on the petrochemicals industry
    • Updated with current events in the industry and ability to identify key trends shaping the industry
    • Knowledge of major customer segments, common products, and product types
    • Knowledge of major players in the industry and competitive landscape
    • Understanding of industry standard processes and methodologies
    • Understanding of the industry regulatory environment
    • Highly adept at understanding business issues and translating them into research priorities
    • Financial knowledge – analysing financial statements and key ratios
    • Ability to ensure that tasks within areas of responsibility are completed in a timely manner
    • Effective communicator with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Possess a flexible and detail-oriented attitude
    • Ability to understand the consulting business environment, language, and processes


    • Develop deep expertise in specialized research tools and techniques, databases and sources; should focus on developing innovative approaches in estimating market segment and size, supplier market share, customer market share, technology analysis, etc., in petrochemicals/specialty markets and subsequently write research reports catering to client needs
    • Bring industry understanding of the petrochemicals and specialty chemicals sector, which would include products, customer segments, competitive forces, and trends shaping the industry
    • Work across the value chain in different sectors such as automotive, packaging, construction, pharmaceutical, and agriculture, and have strong business acumen
    • Understand macroeconomic indicators and their implication on demand/supply and pricing scenarios
    • Identify and recommend potential strategic markets and solution areas by cross referencing available primary and secondary data along with prior knowledge of chemical suppliers/formulators/end-use industry manufacturers and business processes
    • Analyze financial results of companies and comprehend analyst reports to obtain key insights into the performance of a company
    • Create financial reports of companies after analyzing their performance from annual/quarterly filings, company reports and presentations, transcripts, analyst reports, etc.
    • Benchmark financial performance of companies using various ratios and parameters, chosen based on their relevance per industry or industry segment of focus
    • Take proactive role in quality control process for the client, and coach and mentor more junior staff
    • Conduct and initiate various training, allied activities with the team and the group
