    We are looking for a Spectrum Protect Specialist to join our office in Bucharest. During this period with the pandemic, the job will be remote. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 with one hour lunch break.


    • You possess a good knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect formerly Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)

    You will work with the following tools& systems:

    •Spectrum Protect Server Admin knowledge
    •knowledge of the library would be an advantage
    •Spectrum Protect Client Skill on Unix (AIX, Linux) and Windows
    •Basic Unix knowledge (either Linux/AIX)
    •Basic DB2 Skills would be an advantage

    Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

    •Manage the Spectrum Protect / TSM environment (updates, tuning, troubleshooting, etc.)
    •Tape handling, experience with dedup and container storage pools, monitoring, and problem determination
    •If possible, administration of the DB2 database for Spectrum Protect / TSM (updates, tuning, troubleshooting)
    • DB2 knowledge
    • Basic security knowledge in the Spectrum Protect / TSM environment (security requirements)
    • Cloud Object Store expertise



    • Provide end-to-end remote technical support for Spectrum Protect & adjacent technology suite;
    • Perform problem determination, problem source identification, and support on product suite and operating systems/databases;
    • Involve further levels of support or development where required and assisting in technical escalation procedures, when necessary, whilst maintaining ownership of the problem for the client;
    • Ensure service level commitments are met, clients are kept fully informed of progress, and deadlines are maintained when escalating problems;
    • Prevent any customer dissatisfaction by actively managing their problem;
    • Coordinate the problem management process and managing commitments made to clients whilst balancing them with the operational business requirements;
    • Use support center tools for information research, retrieval and investigation, and accurate logging and progression of problem records; Support colleagues, team leaders and Management to achieve the business and operational objectives;
    • Take on extra duties when and as necessary in response to evolving service requirements and/or ad-hoc special support needs;
    • Share your knowledge to educate others in the team on your areas of responsibility, develop a wider appreciation of the operation and help grow colleagues to enable suitable cover for your primary role during periods of absence or high workload peaks.
