Systems Engineer - Hosting, Network & Connectivity

We are looking for a Systems Engineer in the Capital Markets Infrastructure Service area.You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

What will you be doing:
Work closely with ISS Fabric teams on existing and future book of work for improvements on Network, Hosting and Connectivity expertise with business facing focus;
Act as contact and liaison point for multiple business areas into ISS shared fabric groups, especially for approved projects (like DC migrations);
Provide dedicated point of contact for escalation by business areas for incidents and post incident reviews;
Co-ordinate, manage and maintain documentation on the environment without duplication;
Drive forward improvements to the environment without compromised priorities;
Assist with ISS driven initiatives where business drivers are in play;
Provide subject matter expertise including advanced engineering;
Provide insight into new technologies, drive and/or co-ordinate improvement projects and POCs;
Manage, deliver and monitor a number of key improvements to the current systems and infrastructure;
Drive enhancements to the environment through to implementation;
Provide an advanced level of support to the existing environment when required;
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability;
Monitor IT Infrastructure performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with engineers to provide resolution;
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks;
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems;
Work with Issues Tracking System to ensure services are provided according to relevant SLA(s);
Escalate risks and issues and provide frequent status reports and for management;
Write and maintain appropriate documentation for manual and automated processes;
Understand existing complex environment and be able to easily identify problem areas and undertake successful implementations to resolve and/or mitigate.

What are we looking for:
Subject matter expert with broad understanding in other technical areas sufficient to contribute to broader more strategic discussions as they pertain to Markets:
Experienced in leading the technical recovery of Network related Incidents
Excellent knowledge of Firewall technologies;
Excellent knowledge of leading networking technologies (Cisco (ACI beneficial), Arista, Fortinet Juniper).
Excellent knowledge of PTP (precision time protocol);
Routing/switching

Low latency network experience is nice to have;
Experience with SDN (software defined networks), automation and scripting is nice to have;
Experience with technical design process;
Confident in working with technical management and network architects;
Demonstrate competence with working effectively to reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters;
Participate in selection of networking technologies and products for implementation;
Continually update understanding of business and technology status and objectives and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves;
Strong client communication skills.
