    The keynotes will take place on the 20th of October and will be online. No travel is required.

    Abstract:

    In recent years more and more organizations have realized the benefits of cloud computing which provides shared computing resources and services. The benefits of the cloud are widespread, extending well beyond core infrastructure and cost management. Implemented wisely the cloud can transform the way we deliver technology, improving stability, enabling faster deployment, and increasing operational efficiency throughout the firm. Cloud migration is not a one-size-fits-all project. Organizations will need to build intelligent business cases by identifying their key objectives and then clearly articulate the expected benefits of this critical transformation initiative. Cloud transformation and Digital Transformation can bring in synergies together where users can access cloud services and data from anywhere, whether they are employees or customers. This contributes to digital transformation, enables an improved experience for customers, and provides employees with modern, flexible tools.

    Senior Cloud Technology Executive with 23 years of global experience in strategy, engineering, delivery and operational roles. Accountable for defining and driving enterprise Multi Cloud Strategies, delivering Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) operating Model, Cloud Development & Integration, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Managed Services, Execution, and Implementation of DevOps.Effective cloud transformation is multi-dimensional - bridging technology, processes, and people.









    Abstract:

    Started career with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering working on military applications for Navies around the world, from steering controls to making sure the toilets flushed properly! Moved into Software Engineering and then into business systems for Legal Discovery, Television & Radio archives/scheduling back to my roots in IoT for Data Centres and now delivering innovation in cloud based Contact Centres at 8x8. The landscape has changed but the story remains the same - "Go fast, then go alone. Go far, then go together".

    These are a few insights into what I have learned along the way and what I think it takes to be an effective DevLead.
    There is a difference between managing and leading; the former is about making sure the coffee machine is fully serviced, timesheets are on time but the latter is about getting people to achieve more than they thought was possible of themselves. Add into the mix the leading of smart, opinionated, competitive & emotional problem solvers and you have your hands full. There's some science, but the best way to learn is from those that have come before you and have the scars to prove it.

    Cloud has not only solidified itself as a critical component for digital transformation initiatives for enterprise, but as a must-have for businesses looking to stay competitive and operational during and after the pandemic. In this keynote, we'll examine the key trends, innovations and possibilities in cloud technologies to keep an eye on for 2022 and beyond.

    Speaker: Susanne Tedrick - Principal Infrastructure Specialist, Azure for Sports @ Microsoft

    Susanne Tedrick is an infrastructure specialist for Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. In her work, Susanne helps her clients in their efforts to migrate and optimize their IT infrastructures to cloud environments.

    Previously, she worked as a technical specialist for IBM Cloud.

    Susanne is fiercely committed to increasing the participation of women and people of color in STEM professions. Susanne is the author of the critically acclaimed Women of Color in Tech: A Blueprint for Inspiring and Mentoring the Next Generation of Technology Innovators for publisher John Wiley & Sons (2020) and performs community service work for a number of non-profits, including serving as Vice-Chair of the Advancing Tech Talent and Diversity Executive Council for CompTIA and coalition member for NPower's Command Shift initiative. 

    Susanne is the winner of CompTIA's 2020 Diversity Technology Leader Spotlight Award, for her advocacy for increased diversity, equity, and inclusion in the tech industry. Susanne is also the host of Wiley's "Diversity in Tech" webinar series.
