About the Role:

Are you a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Senior Test Automation Engineer passionate about optimizing development and testing life cycle via tools and process automation? Do you enjoy working with large scale distributed systems and ensure the contracts between microservices are honored?

The Cloud Engineering organization is looking for a highly technical, hands-on Software Development Engineer in Test  (“you'll write code daily”) with Python or Go to build tools that ensure the reliability and performance of our large scale cloud-based cybersecurity systems.

We're looking for smart people who want to be challenged and take ownership of what they build. Come develop cutting edge tools and technologies as well as use tried and true ones. Work on: verifying key features and functionality that spans our processing and data layers to ensure it supports millions of events per second, stores terabytes of data and delivers a good level of service to dependent microservices.

Don't worry if you don't know Go, we will teach you!

You will:

• Verify component, system integration and application level features and functionality to ensure our reliability and performance reaches our quality standards.

• Review engineering technical design documents and requirements. Provide plan and strategy about how and where to build in testability.

• Increase and improve our automated test coverage.

• Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions.

• Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test things in new ways.

• Improve our delivered product quality across our entire platform and applications.

• Collaborate on determining root cause of production outages and adding quality improvements to prevent outages in the future.

• Ability to create and maintain test infrastructure. Build the frameworks and packages required to implement automation.

What you’ll need:

• Computer Science degree (or commensurate experience in OOP, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems,      etc.)

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SDET / test automation development experience

• Good programming skills: Python / Java / Go (able to code in at least one of these programming languages)

• Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery systems like Atlassian, Jenkins, etc.

An ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Large scale distributed systems.

• Web Services: JSON, REST, XML.

• Cloud: AWS EC2, S3.

• Docker / Kubernetes.

• Data storage: RDMBS, NoSQL, and Caching Technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, SQLServer, Redis, and/or MemCache.

• Productivity: Git, Jira.

They will also have strong debugging skills: ability to spot design flaws, race conditions and performance bottlenecks in complex architectures.
