TV Engineer Second Line

Role purpose:

Responsible for all 2nd line technical activities in supporting services on Vodafone TV platforms across multiple Local Markets managed by Group TV Operations. Working alongside other technical teams and vendors in incident investigations, change activities and general service maintenance.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

Operation 24x7 including on-call duty for the TV platforms
In case of incident assure trouble shooting analysis and all the repair actions, including vendor support escalation, in order to achieve service restoration of IPTV network.
Actively influences operational efficiency and operability of the deployed IPTV solutions
Assure planned work activities, network rollout, software upgrades and parameter changes in IPTV network elements ensuring quality of service and avoiding regression on network functionalities
Analysis of the pre-corelated Customer complaints

Core competencies:

Hands-on experience and good knowledge on IPTV / OTT architectures (TV head end - IP multicast, coding / decoding, streaming, encryption, Back End platforms, EPG, VOD)
Familiarised with Cloud technologies, Web Services. Experience working in Storage and Operating systems.
Strong understanding of network environments. Ability to interpret protocol analyser traces or service probes.
Foundational knowledge of security best practices and certificates.
English (spoken and written) language;

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

University degree: (eg: Electronics and Telecommunications, Automation and Computers, Informatics etc.);
2-3 years of experience in IPTV, IT or Cloud Operations activities.
1-2 years of experience in networking environments will be a plus.
Cisco /Windows certifications will be a plus
