High Voltage IT Engineer

The company comprises 2 divisions specialized on its core capabilities: ENGINEERING and IT. These two divisions are: ALTEN TECHNO and ALTEN IT.

To ensure success in this role, you need the following experience and skills:

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, automation, or similar profile;
• 2-3 years of work experience in communication engineering for control systems;
• Deep knowledge in the configuration of communication hardware (Cisco, Ruggedcom, checkpoint, etc.) and the LAN protocols;
• Knowledge of TCP / IP network management & time synchronization systems and also knowledge of IT security concepts, standards, and hardening measures;
• Good knowledge in network communication protocols like IEC61850 and redundancy schemes (PRP, RSTP, etc.);
• Good communication skills in English.

A typical day might include the following:

• Creating the project-specific technical specifications, documents manuals, etc.;
• Clarifying the communication and IT security (LAN layout, TCP / IP Ethernet) concepts with customers and internal interfaces;
• Configuring and hardening of respective hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, master clocks, etc.);
• Commissioning and maintaining the LAN infrastructure in our internal test environment;
• Conducting customer training and also providing support with commissioning activities.
