    Requirements

    • Experience with AIX 4.3 – AIX 7.1
    • Experience with Power VM
    • Experience with Linux SuSE, RedHat Administration, enterprise environment
    • HMC, VIO, NIM, LPAR, Live partition Mobility Skill
    • Experience with Backup software and strategies
    • Familiarity with RAID disk technologies & SAN infrastructure
    • Shell scripting: korn, bash, Perl
    • Ability to structure, draft and review technical documentation
    • Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive
    • Should be able to mentor junior member of the team
    • Should act as a role model
    • Willingness to learn new things
    • Extremely flexible if the workflow is changing
    • Fluent English (spoken and written)
    • Communicative competence (pro-active)
    • Team player

    • Highly motivated

    Nice to have:

    • ITIL Certified (foundation or/and practitioner) or strong working knowledge
    of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management Process
    • Knowledge of advanced shell scripting – KS, Perl
    • Experience with Linux on Power
    • Experience with AIX with a background in and understanding of:
    • Designing and setting up server architectures in support of complex
    enterprise-wide applications including knowledge of redundancy, recovery,
    load balancing, and other related topics
    • Appropriately configuring and optimizing technologies and applications that
    utilize the platform
    • File system concepts ( inode, paging, swapping, clustering, logical partitions,
    etc)
    • Knowledge and understanding of network applications, web servers, email
    servers, firewalls, databases, file shares, and print servers

    Working hours:

    • Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00 (covering customer business hours, 2 shifts,
    1-hour difference)
    • Availability for on-call support outside business hours

    Responsibilities

    • Event, Incident, Problem Management (analyze alerts and logs), Root Cause Analysis
    • Install and support the Power 5 to Power 9 servers, Power VM, firmware upgrades
    • Install and support the backend storage, storage virtualization, SAN fabric
    • Install and support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities including upgrades
    • Performance and availability analysis
    • Promote and maintain server patch management practices
    • Perform security updates
    • Ensure compliance with security guidelines
    • Liaison with Customer Security Officer
    • 3rd party vendor coordination and escalation
    • Maintenance of data center infrastructure
    • Provision of new LPARs, VIOs
    • Troubleshoot performance issues, troubleshoot OS configuration and hardware failures and apply fixes
    • Create and implement change requests for incidents/problems as needed
    • Trend analysis of issues and corrective actions
    • Access management in Linux environment
    • Backup and Recovery procedures
    • Initiate, assess, test, verify, document and quality assure system updates
    • Create and update technical documentation
