Big Data Developer

• Good experience and exposure of working in the financial industry
• Experience with Big Data and Hadoop Ecosystem: Spark (Spark SQL, Data Frames, PySpark), HDFS, Hive, YARN, Kerberos
• Good knowledge of working with Databases (for example SQL, Oracle, Hive, Impala) and versed in working with different data file types
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
• Basic knowledge of Python
• Being able to understand functions from pyspark.sql library, pyspark joins
• Experienced using Control-M Workload Automation tool
• Awareness/information about DevOps practices like CI/CD
• Be familiar with version control systems: GIT
• Hands-on knowledge of Shell Scripting
• Be familiar with Atlassian Stack: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket
• At least 5 years of experience working with reporting tools
• Have an aptitude for data mining, analytical in the approach to tasks, and have a business focus
• Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or IT-related discipline (or equivalent work experience/diploma/certification)
• Educational background and understand statistical modelling and can apply modelling techniques to analyse data

• Create Data Storage Applications effectively within the organization (analytical processing), as well as maintaining data analytics platforms so that data can effectively be mined for information later
• Conduct Unit Tests and develop database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Improve Systems. Evaluate and improve existing systems that are in place as well as collaborate with teams within the business to integrate these new systems to streamline workflow and company processes
• Develop Technical Documentation. Create reports based on completed projects, develop and update technical documentation for senior members of staff and colleagues within the department to serve as a reference guide
• Actively support the business strategy, plan and value, contributing to the achievement of a high-performance culture
• Take ownership of own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
• Act as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment
