Very good cloud knowledge - concepts, configuration, security, costs
Good understanding of HA/DR concepts
Experience in applying HA/DR concepts in distributed systems
Excellent understanding of the web ecosystem: actors, web applications infrastructure, web development particularities, HTTP protocol, sockets
Advanced monitoring experience Advanced networking skills Good Bash skills
Basic PHP skills
Basic Python skills
Advanced understanding of MySQL or equivalents: performance tuning and database optimisation Basic MongoDB experience
Experience in deploying and managing modern PHP frameworks: Symfony, Laravel, Zend etc. Experience in using modern development practices: CI/CD, microservices, containers, observability Experience in consuming (REST) APIs
Experience with Automated Testing
Familiarity with debugging and pin-pointing issues

working on creating new infrastructures for our clients
coming up with new way of doing things (new & old)
analysing performance and tuning configurations for performance, be it the webservers, database, caching or a reverse proxy debugging and fixing things
doing research regarding the implementation possibilities and building Proof of Concepts
debating with peers (Devs, SREs, DevOps) or clients regarding the best approach
enjoying a cup of good coffee (per hour?) and these, in turn can involve:
continuously working on improving HA/DR, through technical solutions and also policies enhancing monitoring and alerting
make digging through logs easier for devs
analysing various metrics and logs to better understand a system
automating common/complex tasks, be it deployment- or migration-related or performance tuning documenting & organising knowledge
fixing support escalation issues (through a rotation system)
conducting post-incident reports
All this work and effort put in for devs to use. You get the product, as it “just” needs to replicate the work you’re doing at a grand scale .
