Required Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or related field.
•Min. 5 years experience in the area of defining Qualification Testing plans and requirements.
•Experience with interpreting and applying OEM and International Qualification (DV/PV) test requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or related field.
•7 years preferred experience in the area of defining and approving Qualification Testing plans.
•Knowledge and experience using all Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Word, Project and Visio.
•Experience in a team setting.
•Negotiation skills.
•Project management skills.

The role of Sr. Reliability Validation Engineer is tasked to develop a Qualification Test Plan requirement used during Qualification Testing (DV/PV). The plan considers both OEM and International Standards as well as prior lessons learned. When complete and approved the Qualification Test Plan serves as the definition of all the procedures and parameters for test. The Sr. Reliability Validation Engineer also serves to assist the lab with testing excellence. He/she defines the quantity and type of fixtures needed for tests and thus, designs, sources and releases fixtures for environmental testing.

Core Responsibilities:

•Translates all OEM test and product design / system architecture requirements into Qualification Test requirements (DV/PV level test plan for environmental and electrical tests).
•Develops or co-develops the project Qualification Test Plans and Test Flows to ensure testing meets the objectives for product expected life (durability) and reliability.
•Analyzes complex reliability statistics, interprets results, recommends modifications and testing leading to robust design and testing solutions.
•Interfaces at various levels of the local BUs as well as the external customers to achieve concurrence on test models/plans and test results to determine if Vitesco products meet validation requirements.
•Provide recommendation and review of potential development tests to be performed.
•Seeks and implements opportunities to eliminate unnecessary/redundant testing.
•Supports technical and budgetary responses on RFIs and RFQs for complex new and legacy projects.
•Guides explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of very complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data.
•Provides Design for Reliability expertise (consulting) to meet design and customer requirements and Technical Customer Support and Enabling Services.
•Leads continuous improvement activities and coordinates the tasks necessary to resolve systemic problems and/or problem areas.
•Heads fixture designs and directs procurement for vibration, shock and other test fixtures.

Additional Responsibilities:

•Leads cross functional, cross organizational initiatives to develop the most. complex standards reflecting internal and external customer requirements as well as changing industry standards.
•Collaborates globally to ensure maximum reuse of process and procedures within the Vitesco Labs Reliability organization.
•Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently.
•Adheres to all company quality procedures and work instructions as they apply to job function.
•Mentors cross-functionally and cross-organizationally, providing technical and process expertise applicable to complex test equipment and strategies.
•Provides technical training to test operators on the usage of fixtures, vibe blocks and general instrumentation.
