About the team

1&1 SMB Product Romania's mission is to make having an online presence accessible for any busy SMB owner, by building an ecosystem of do-it-yourself services, spanning from website builder to online marketing, that our customers can use to be successful online. As an QA Manager in the SMB Product Romania your primary responsibility is to the team and people you support, ensuring a healthy and sustainable Quality Assurance culture. You will have the opportunity to influence culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with your team and leadership to shape up strategy and execution.

Main responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of highly skilled Manual QA and QA Automation Engineers;
• Conduct performance appraisals and development plans;
• Hire, coach, mentor and help your team grow and evolve;
• Mentoring and coaching of QA engineers and developers in regards to test automation, QA metrics, tool sets and testing best practices;
• Act as the first point of contact for any QA-related topics for our partners and stakeholders;
• Cultivate a healthy Quality Assurance culture, in-line with the company cultural values;
• Act as an information bridge and make sure QA strategy, processes, tools are understood and properly implemented in our projects;
• Promote and implement Agile practices within the team;
• Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization;
• Influence business and product roadmap to align them to the team’s needs and vice-versa;
• Deep dive into product and technical issues with a problem-solving mindset;
• Secure realistic release plans and be involved in roadmap definition;
• You’ll be located in our Bucharest office, and will occasionally travel to the company’s offices in Germany;

• Proven interest and passion for some of the following topics: SW testing, QA Architecture, Leadership, Process development, Programming, Security, Web Development;
• Experience developing test automation of client / server systems, knowledge of the following tools Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin or similar.
• You’re passionate about creating products and services that customers love;
• You have a strong affinity towards developing and growing people;
• Have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring developers towards a timely delivery of high quality software;
• Solid experience working in an Agile development environment;
• You are highly balanced, patient, and generally have a good way with people;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Great communication skills;
• You’re able to bring your thoughts across in a simple way, understandable for different audiences (Engineering, Design, Commercial Management, etc.);
• You’re able to keep a clear head in stressful and conflictual situations;

• Knowledge in JAVA development is a big plus;
• An advantage is experience within at least some of the following areas: security, penetration testing, other project management tools (MS Project);
• A plus is knowledge in the usage of build tools, Git (Gitlab, Bitbucket), continuous integration (Jenkins) and how these fit into automation testing;
