Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Degree in Engineering, Mechanical;
3 - 5 years of experience as Mechanical Design Engineer, Sheet Metal Design is a plus.
Minimum 5 projects as lead CAD Engineer from the RFQ phase to start of production (SOP),
Detailed knowledge in Design
Analytical, problem resolution skills
Proactive business orientation, with demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in execution. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and execute accordingly
Attention to detail, pro-active, hands-on, drive to be successful
Good SAP knowledge ( 3-5 year experience); Excellent knowledge MS Office
Good English knowledge (writing and speaking), German language is a plus;
Structured, careful and analytical way of working
Team player and ability to work in a flexible way, resilient

Activities related to CAD System/PLM System

• Create the concept of the new products based on requirement specifications and customer/product management meeting protocols

• Create 3D models and drawings by using Solid Works for the new products

• Handling PLM/PDM system (CIDEON)/ link the new products drawings and models to ERP system


Activities related to ERP (SAP) / Material Master/Bill of Materials

• Create/Modify the BOM’s related to the concern and plant assignment,

• Performing different SAP activities such as data maintenance,

• Create Different reports for standardization


Activities related to CAD System/PLM System

• Create 3D models and drawings by using Solid Works for the new products, jig and fixtures

• Handling 2D CAD systems (AutoCad) for different CAD conversions

• Handling PLM/PDM system (CIDEON)/ link the new product drawings and models to ERP system (SAP)


Activities related to New Products Development

• Design accordingly with plant existing technologies and support development of the new technologies

• Responsible with follow up of the activities in the product development phase

• Interface between local organization and R&D Oehringen

• Interface with Product Management Team, Customers and Suppliers

• Project Management




Activities related to Production and Change Management

• Participate to “0” production and propose/implement in the design any improvement ideas based on the Zero Serie Protocol

• Approve Design Deviation Request if need it

• Create/Implement jig and fixtures

• Manage Change Requests from wish to implementation



Reports and KPI’s

• Provide periodical and ad hoc reports to the superior and/or Management Team (Projects status reports, etc)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence in pursuit of solutions

Reporting Relationships:

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer report to the Head of Design & Development Timisoara.
