Data Warehouse Developer - Junior

The Bucharest Office is one of AG’s IT Centers that offers support for the Corporation Teams in the Data warehouse, System Engineering, QA Automation Engineering, Web & Mobile Development arias.

Experience:

Must have:
• Strong desire to learn and improve yourself;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with a data warehouse or relational database specialization or similar experience.

At least 0,6 to 1+ years of experience in the following:
• Experience with various flavors of SQL, Unix/AIX, Relational Databases, Windows, and Data Warehousing Concepts and Methodologies;
• Experience provide ongoing support for ETL-based application, development/troubleshooting;
• Understanding of ITIL/Change Control processes;
• Experience working with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio);
• Trustworthiness to work independently while communicating activities;
• Strong written & verbal English communication skills;
• Flexible, motivated, positive and team-oriented attitude; excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with team members in a remote capacity;
• Proven Code, Process and Data Analytic skills;
• Desire to improve analytical abilities and critical thinking.

Willingness to occasionally travel to the United States - when all restrictions related to actual pandemic situation will be canceled.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Resolving Performance, Technical and/or Data Issues:
o Analyze data issues and present corrective options;
o Provide technical assistance on assigned EDW-related issues;
o Make & test corrections to existing ETL, Unix/Windows scripts, Database utilities etc.

• General EDW Support:
o Aptitude for coding in various ETL Technologies and work closely with Job Scheduling team;
o Upkeep Production Support documentation;
o Work with vendors to open tickets and resolve issues.

• Primary Support rotation:
o Take occasional rotations on EDW Primary Support (after Training);
o Minimize disruption to the business.

• Programming:
o Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills and concepts;
o Ability to leverage SQL skills across multiple database technologies;
o Improve O/S skills in AIX/Unix Shell & Utilities, Windows Script, PowerShell & Utilities, Mainframe.

• Participation on Assigned Projects:
o Learn & apply the AG Guidelines/Best Practices;
o Take on various roles depending on Project needs/requirements;
• Excellent Work Ethic & English Communication Skills.

The American Greetings Enterprise Data Warehouse team is looking for the right person to become part of its team. This person will be a self-motivated individual ready to support and enhance our BI environment, is eager to learn new technologies and is open to possessing wide set of technical skills/knowledge. They will work in concert with DBA’s, Business Analysts, Business Users and other Technical staff. Increasing responsibilities in this person’s daily activities will include general EDW support, SQL, learning from senior Staff, rotations for Primary Support, troubleshooting performance issues, analyzing/resolving technical and/or data issues, Unix Shell & Utilities, Windows Script/PowerShell, programming in various ETL tools as well as various database utilities. The successful candidate will participate in similar analysis/development roles on assigned Projects.
